Wow wow wow. Food is so great. The staff is always very kind and the vibe of the place is really relaxing too. It is a small space so I imagine they get packed quick but I have gone at noon on a weekday and it wasn’t full. I also went at 540pm on a sat it also wasn’t super packed either. Can’t wait to go back again.

This was a lovely little place that I stumbled upon on a Saturday around noon. It was basically empty at that time which meant extremely fast service and the food came out lightning quick. The server was very friendly and helpful. The place is clean and for me, at least, quiet. I ordered the lobster roll which, knowing lobsters are not exactly native to Illinois, might only be satisfactory. This roll had the entire lobster tail, not cut up, crammed into it. It was absolutely fantastic! Instead of the parmesan tots I got a side of the chowder which was also very good with extremely large chunks of clam. Overall, I was extra delighted to have found this for my lunch.

Brown Bag Seafood Co. absolutely exceeded my expectations. I ordered the lobster roll, and it genuinely rivals any lobster roll you’d find in New England—fresh, perfectly prepared, and loaded with flavor.
The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, especially since it was our first time eating there. They took the time to answer questions and made the whole experience welcoming and easy.

We went here late as it was a long day. We noticed a few in the city but went to the Lakeshore East location. There on their last hour and energy was high and they explained the menu and process. I really wanted something clean and simple. So went with the salmon and it hit the spot. I can really see myself eating this at lunch and being content. The protein level if good for someone trying to say fit and build muscle for a good lunch. Booths were great for 4-6 people but lunch for 1 is great by the window too. Real nice place, will come back when I’m in Chicago.

They have both indoor and outdoor seating (I went on a cold day), and once you step inside, it’s worth taking a minute to take it all in: the decor, the vibe, and the menus.
My favorite detail: the menus are styled like tests, which is surprisingly fun and makes the experience feel a bit playful.
My meal came out in about 15 minutes on a winter weekday before the lunch rush. I had the salmon with veggies, and it was really good. A very enjoyable lunch overall.

Came here for a late lunch/early dinner this past Saturday before the Mag Mile lights festival! The staff were great listeners with helping us choose which food items would work best for us! We tried the lobster roll, honey sriracha salmon salad, the skinny margarita, and the vodka gingerade! Everything was delicious; however, our stomachs were a little unsettled as we got further into the night (I don’t believe it was anything to do with the establishment! We would definitely come back!)

Excellent fast casual seafood option with friendly service. I was greeted by Shannon, who was warm and welcoming. She could tell I was new here, and she immediately showed me where the menu was and what their specialties were. Shannon made ordering pleasant, and the fish sandwich and salmon salad were fresh and tasty.

Excellent seafood place with fast service is what Brown Bag Seafood is all about. From 3-6 Dinner plates are only $15.00 ! I tried the broiled Hake with coleslaw and Truffle Parmesan Tater Tots and it was very fresh, and tasty. We also tried the Cajun Salmon Ceasar Salad and Clam Chowder which were really fresh and tasty. Don’t miss this cute, casual seafood haunt. The Lobster roll is $34.00 ouch but everything is expensive everywhere now. The decor is fun and it has a seaside vibe in the heart of the Midwest!
