The waiter sat down at our table twice. The second time he asked if we had ordered. After taking our order. We ordered fried green tomatoes and fried okra as appetizers. They came out the same time as our food. Which took 25 minutes because my husband ordered fried chicken. And they had to cook it to order-25 munutes? The fried green tomatoes came out as a blob not individual tomatoes. I ordered a rib plate. The ribs were days old and when heated up they were completely dried out. We did not enjoy any of the food we ordered. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Eat here often and everything I have ever gotten has been delicious. Friendly people, fast service, and good food! Best restaurant in town. Would recommend to anyone. Prices are spot on also!

Our first time at Brown Bag Burgers (or Tooties?) was a great experience. The place looks like a charming local place and it didn’t disappoint. It’s only open for breakfast and lunch. They close at 2 so hurry up and get there.
Inside was warm and friendly, the type of place that you know the locals probably keep a secret. We were greeted right away after we seated ourselves.
Went in on a Monday around noon. I ordered the chicken salad on a croissant with chips. My husband ordered a pork tenderloin with fries and my son ordered a cheeseburger with fries. Food was served up fast.
Our drinks were a mixed bag. I ordered a Diet Coke and it came in a can, which I’m fine with. A Pepsi and a Mt. Dew was also ordered. The Pepsi came as a fountain drink but the Mt. Dew came as a can as well. Large cups of ice were served with the cans. Did I mention the cans were only a dollar?!
Chicken croissant was surprisingly tasty. A little sweet and had a great texture, slightly chunky with either nuts or grapes in it. Not ground into oblivion. Tasted great. Chips were served with it.
Breaded tenderloin came dressed and was delicious according to my husband. He said it was better than Zestos’s and if you know about that place, that’s saying something.
Cheeseburger went down so fast on my son that I barely got a picture. He said it tasted homemade like mine and I guess that’s a good thing. He ate every crumb.
I noticed they also had a small salad bar, but I didn’t try it this time around.
I could tell they had regulars come in because the waiter and the customers chatted. Fast and friendly service. He checked on us a few times to make sure that everything was good and that we didn’t need anything.
We couldn’t pass the pies and cakes that are in the old fashioned glass cases. Mile high meringue. We ordered two pieces of chocolate pie. I just took a bite. Very chocolatey and a drier consistency than I prefer. It was almost brownie like. Very rich and would satisfy your chocolate craving.
The prices were kinda unbelievable in today’s world. We’ll definitely go back and I’m dying to try their pork BBQ and rib plate.
My tip is to take your time and look at all the items in the menu and on the wall before you place your order. There’s so much! Oh well gives us an excuse to return.
The atmosphere was great. All walks of life eating in there together. What might be seen from the outside as a local dive (which usually is the best food) turned out to be a great and fun experience. We went in early March 2025. We’ll be back.

Wow ! What a treat, a true hometown cafe that serves breakfast all day open 5a.m to 2p.m The prices are ridiculously low and the food and service are terrific. This was our 1st time here, and we will be returning in the future. I tried the double cheeseburger and cheese balls, and they were delicious, lots of free parking , free refills on your drinks, I would highly recommend stopping in if in the Henderson area. A definite taste of Americana in Kentucky friendly atmosphere!

I’ve wanted to try this place for a while and I’m not gonna lie. They had a very respectable burger. Nice crispy edge good Patty good toppings how can you go wrong. We also tried the chili, a lot of people said it was good and they did not lie had a great flavor a nice amount of space and just a good well rounded chili. We tried the fried green tomatoes and cannot complain about those at all. All in all, I think that the lunch fare was very good, and cannot wait to try it again and try something different. If you’re in Henderson and you’re looking for a decent lunch stop on by and give them a try.

I wonder if this place changed hands? I got two chicken dinners Saturday the 3rd of January. They where HORRIBLE when do you exchange a chicken breast for a big hard chicken strip? Fried so hard we couldn’t even eat it. It was very disappointing and we will never be back on top of that it was very little fries, not like the dinners I gotten before. Bylinda Rigdon

Good, homestyle cooking at a reasonable price. A family of 3 can eat breakfast for around $20.00. Drinks have free refills and are priced well below other local establishments ($1.00 per beverage).

We ordered they had no fish. So we order a different sandwich tots and a pound of pork. We wait 20minutes and you tell us you have no tots, only a scoop of pork so you made a sandwich I did not want it on a sandwich and you dont have half the stuff we waited 20 minutes for. I dont care if you have vendor issues there is never and excuse for this poor of service. This was our first and last time eating here. Didn’t even offer a discount for having us wait for 20 minutes on food they couldn’t provide. If I could give 0 stars I would.
By the way I am a Google Food Reviewer. This won’t look good on your business.
