First visit to Brother Thai and it absolutely delivered on flavour.

We ordered the Pad Krapao Nuea and the Thai fried chicken satay rice bowl, followed by the sticky spicy beef and Thai basil chicken rotis. The Pad Krapao had that classic homely feel — tasty, aromatic and comforting. The fried chicken was crisp on the outside, juicy inside and worked perfectly with the peanut sauce. The rotis were soft and flaky, with generous, well-seasoned fillings.

Service was prompt and friendly, with a check-in during the meal to make sure everything was okay — always appreciated. The restaurant has a cosy, dimly lit atmosphere which adds to the vibe, but don’t expect perfect social media lighting.

Reservations are absolutely a must — the place was busy and it’s easy to see why.

Great food, great experience, and we’ll definitely be back to work through more of the menu.

It’s pretty sexy in Brother Thai. I’d been meaning to go there for years. I’d walked in many times but always turned away because it’s so popular.

This time I booked. We had a great time. There was a lot of laughing and the food was absolutely delicious. I would have liked a duck dish on the menu, still, it was very tasty.

The service was fantastic, the vibe was perfect, and I’ll definitely go again some time soon.

Delicious, authentic Thai food. They were quite busy (Sunday lunchtime) and couldn’t seat me right away but they called me back about 20 min later when a walk-in table become available. And I’m so glad they did because I enjoyed the meal and friendly service.

My favourite restaurant in Cardiff! I’ve been multiple times and I love it more every time. The Satay chicken rice bowl is incredible, the chicken is so juicy and full of flavour. Staff are great and the general atmosphere is nice too. Little garden out the back in the summer. And it’s SO affordable!

Food was tasty but I do feel it’s slightly over hyped. I had the beef roti and wontons. The beef was a tiny bit on the chewy side and quite greasy but flavours were good overall.

We were greeted by one of the chefs and definitely a credit to the restaurant.
The food was amazing, we had never tried Thai food before and this was one of our favourite places that we visited in Cardiff.
We need more brother Thai restaurants around the country. It was so good
Even though parking was difficult to find for longer than an hour, we definitely recommend

Great staff and a lovely experience.
I had the Red chicken roti which was delicious. The group had other rotis but the feedback from them was that they went down well.
I had the spicy beef ricebowl (I forget what it was actually called) which was equally delicious.

All in all, for a group of 8 of us and no bad meals or experiences, this was a great place to come. I would definitely come back here.

They have really yummy food. My favourite are coconut ice cream and fried chicken. I would highly recommend you to have a try the fried chicken which is special. I never had same style at other restaurants. Their fried chicken use chicken thighs.

It was fine I guess. Definitely not bad but I don’t understand all the hype around it. Had the sticky beef roti. Packed with flavor but the beef was chewy to the point my jaw hurt. The cucumber salad on top was refreshing and the perfect addition to the rich beef. But the paratha/roti was frozen. For a restaurant who serves this as their signature dish, you would expect it to be made in house.

We also had the red curry with rice and that wasn’t as nice, it fell flat. Incredibly oily due to the coconut sauce splitting and it just ended up causing this unpleasant texture.
