My friends recommended I try here for lunch. I was in the general area on a Tuesday so I decided to give it a try. I was greeted right away by a female employee and she asked what I wanted. Since I had never been, I told her I needed a minute. While I was looking over the menu, I told her I had never been there and asked for her recommendation. She suggested a turkey sandwich. I instead decided on a Reuben. She asked if I wanted my bread toasted and I said yes please. While she was making it, I looked around at snacks and drinks and another female asked me what I needed. I said I was being taken care of already and was just looking around. She snapped back “You stay with the person you started with.” I was a little taken aback. Mind you, the first lady was told I had never been there yet she said nothing about that. Anyways, I watch my sandwich being made and I see the meat, sauerkraut and cheese go into a microwave. I was surprised as this was supposed to be a higher end sandwich shop. My sandwich was done and she asked me if I wanted pickles. Again, never been there before so I didn’t know what to expect. I said yes and she said dill or spicy. I said dill and she filled a little take out container with 3 pickle slices, added a top and wrapped it with the sandwich. I paid $15 for a sandwich with no drink or snack items. I did get the whole sandwich which was very large. I went to my car to eat so I could take pictures and check everything out. Honestly, the microwaved corned beef was chewy, just slightly warm and the sandwich was super messy. The bread was so lightly toasted it was more like stale bread then toasted bread. And because it was so lightly toasted, the bread did not hold up well. The sandwich was big and it took me a little while to finish. I would have liked to see the bread really toasted and not just warmed up and I wish the Reuben was cooked in a conveyor oven or a sandwich press. I wish I had ordered the turkey sandwich. I will stop back, get a half sandwich next time and not order a hot sandwich there again.

Recently I took my 13-year-old to Brooklyn Pickle while we were out and about in Syracuse, and I realized I’d never brought him here before — what a mistake! We’re big fans of sandwiches, and Brooklyn Pickle does not disappoint.
The bread is always perfectly fresh, the vegetables are cut just right, and everything about their sandwiches is consistently excellent. It’s simple, satisfying, and just plain good — every time. A reliable spot for a delicious, no-fuss meal!

Oh my GOSH. The Brooklyn Pickle sandwich is the best sandwich I’ve ever eaten. The signature pickle chips, the pasta salad…everything we ate was superb. Being from out of town I sorta expected the staff to be impatient with me taking my time and asking questions but they could not have been more patient or sweet.
I hope you love The Brooklyn Pickle as much as I did!

I guess I was expecting this BP was just as great as the original one on Teal Ave,where I never had a bad sandwich ever. This expensive sandwich tasted a little off and after a few bites made me so sick to my stomach the rest went in the trash.

I got an Italian on wheat with everything and hot peppers. They did not hold back on the toppings. Really hit the spot after a walk around the arboretum and Burnet Park.
A bit confusing for a first timer that there is no register up front, but not a big deal. Someone takes your card to the register in the middle of the prep area.

The staff was kind. I am not from the area and was a little confused about the offering but the server walked us through it. The Brooklyn Pickle was perfection and the Chicken Riggie (special of the day) was just what I needed on this cold snowy day. 10/10 would go again 🙂

Update: 9/30/25
This establishment contacted me to correct this and offer me a sandwhich, this is very kind and thoughtful. I will give them another chance to make up for this as I hear they have great sandwiches. Looking forward to coming back to get the gluten free Pastrami
I walked in on 9/27/2025 to get a sandwich that I have been craving for weeks. Unfortunately as soon as I asked for gluten free bread they informed me they don’t have any out, and that it was still in the freezer. Keep in mind this was roughly 2:30pm so it was kind of frustrating to drive all the way out here 30minutes away to be told they didn’t have any more gluten free bread and it was in the freezer. Very disappointing and makes me not want to come to this location.

Not from the Syracuse area but was just in the area for work drove by and saw this deli with a bunch of cars so I assumed it was going to be good and I stopped in.
Yes the long was lying but worth the wait and wasn’t a slow line.
I ended up getting a whole gluten-free roast beef sandwich. Also an antipasto salad and the carrot ginger soup.
The antipasto salad was already pre-made but fresh that day which I ended up having for dinner.
The carrot ginger soup was a period soup that was freshly made in house Rich delicious flavors.
And the star of the show was my gluten-free roast beef sandwich which was technically two sandwiches so I had two lunches out of that.
The roast beef was flavorful. I ended up putting lettuce tomato, banana peppers and provolone cheese. I definitely love the pickles that were included as well.
I highly recommend this restaurant.

Brooklyn Pickle. This, I think, is a Syracuse thing. If you know, you know!! If you’re from out of town, hunt one of their locations down. Which ever is closest, and get yourself a sandwich !! Today, I was on the west side, so we stopped in for lunch, to go. Rarely do I get a sub from them, because, well, sandwiches!!! Simple ham Swiss tomatoes lettuce onions and mayo. Fantastic !! Homemade cookie. Homemade Mac salad – out the door I went !! Well worth your time to stop.
