I cant lie, I was very skeptical about this place. However to my surprise the food here was AMAZING… Im a cook and I can be very critical when it comes to Soul Food but I have to give them their just due props.. This food is damn good.. The Collard Greens were PERFECT… The ribs, well seasoned , tender and flavorful. The Mac and cheese was very good . As far as the yams, Ive had better but they weren’t bad at all. They may have put Vanilla extract in them that gives it more of a sweet potato pie kind of taste but again not bad at all.. The service could be a little better, the ladies behind the counter seemed a little impatient but they weren’t rude necessarily..Just seemed like they worked hard all day and was ready to go.. The gentleman that was inside was cool, he greeted us and made sure we were taken care of. Overall I give them an 8.5.. I look for a good place to eat when I travel to Long Island after visiting my loved ones Graves and this location definitely did the trick. Far better than any Soul Food place in Harlem right now and Im being totally honest.. Highly Recommended…

Ribs were delicious and fell right off the bone. The Mac n cheese was creamy and and sharp. Just how I like it. Could have used some toasted breadcrumbs, but it still hit the spot. The collard greens were perfectly salty and tender. I was craving soul food and this satisfied every craving. Oh, and that corn bread can’t be left unmentioned ! I enjoyed it. It was light and not dry.

Best ribs Ive ever had, they fell right off the bone and the marinade was soo good. The collard greens and mac and cheese hit the spot. Definitely try the red velvet cake too!! The portions were generous and the lady helping me was friendly. This place should be rated 5 stars.

Me and my mom stopped in for once and all I can say is we’ll be back guaranteed. Staff was attentive and kind. We didn’t even wait till we got home to eat, the food was excellent. I got flounder with yams and mac and cheese and my mom got Tilapia with yellow rice.

This is strictly a “takeout” spot, no place to eat-in. However, the food was AMAZING! I ordered 2 fried catfish platters, the fish was cooked when I ordered, so it was good & hot. It comes with two side with a selection of 10 or 11. Very good portions, packed in a way to insure the fish didn’t get soggy. Everything was still hot and delicious when I arrived home. Excellent soul food with great choices like chicken (baked, fried & BBQ), meatloaf, ribs, fish (whiting, porgies, catfish, & 4 more), and turkey wings. Plus desserts – all your favorites!

It takes a lot out of me to write this review especially at a place that I often eat I came into this establishment to order some pork chops for me and the family as I was waiting in line there were another customer ahead of me and they was ordering the same thing. The representative told The customer in front of me that she only has one pork chop and she is not making any more ….. well to my surprise I was told again very blunt that there’s only one pork chop and she’s not making any more. So I ask again because normally and the other they tell you it will take about 15 to 20 minutes it will be a while. This is what I was expected but to my surprise again she told both of us she has one pork chop and is she’s not making any more it is just the two of them there any problems you see Tommy it is not her problem. I don’t know if the customer service representative in this establishment needs some Training but I hope after this review she will be evaluated for the training that she will need in the upcoming future to deal with situations when they arise. I was very disappointment to know there was no chance that she was going to make it it’s not because they didn’t have it she told me she was not making it there was a whole lot more said but this was the part of the conversation that made me sour and it had me come on here to write a review I never thought that I would be writing a review in my own Hometown since most of my travels for work is out of the u.s. so in my conclusion I will tell most of my followers that yes this is a very good Ixtapa shmon if you want some very tasteful Soul food. But they also need to recognize that this is not the only establishment to eat food there is three more and Amityville to eat from like I told the representative I will be doing this because I’m a voice of course she says she doesn’t care. So by the way my favorite is in the morning I get the grits and fish with egg and cheese this platter is unbelievable that grits is tasteful but not lumpy I highly recommend this dish…. at night I have the turkey wing with a side of macaroni and cheese and gravy from the yams.. now 1 of a customer service representative that is here is Stephanie she’s the one who always deal with me but she was night here tonight

This is the kind of good cookin soul food I was after! They offer some epic takeout trays! Best ribs I’ve had in quite some time, as well as the Mac n cheese! Their chicken thighs are bangin! I’ll be back to try some more great eats from here!

I have bought food from here for years and they never disappoint. They have the best turkey wings. The mac, yams and greens are always on point. And the fried fish is always fresh and so dang tasty!!! You can’t go wrong ordering from here.
