Cozy and small. Not a lot of seating but I have never seen it crowded. It is always clean.
The savory dumplings are pretty good, you’ll need to try a few different types to see what you like. The dumpling soup has great flavor!
The sauces really took it up a notch — bold, flavorful, and perfectly paired with the dumplings. If you love dumplings or just want to try something different, this spot is a must-visit in Philly. I’ll definitely be back to try more!
Knocking 2 stars off for being told that I could not use the bathroom since it was not for the public. Later my husband also asked to use the bathroom and he was told it was not really a bathroom and that it was broken. There was no sign on the bathroom door saying it was not for customers nor that it was broken. If I’m sitting in and dining at a restaurant, I’d assume we would be able to use the facilities to relieve ourselves. It’s usually required by law that restaurants offer bathrooms for guests.
Other paying guests came in asking to use the bathroom as well.
Customer service was also subpar when we asked questions.
Overall not a great service experience at this location. I do not plan to return.
Tasted great, came out how I ordered. Well, it’s worth a tryout and see how you like it. I’m heading back to try their other menu items. The burgers looked great on the menu.
Keep your receipt. You’ll need it to unlock the little cubby that they place your food in. Inside can seat several more than a dozen.
For the socially awkward! You don’t have to interact with a single person through the whole purchase-grab process.
Brooklyn Dumpling Shop – Philadelphia, PA
⭐️⭐️⭐️½
Food:
Firecracker Bowl with Tempura Shrimp & Hibachi Noodles
– The tempura shrimp was fresh and delicious.
– Hibachi noodles were good, though not quite as flavorful as traditional hibachi.
– The spicy firecracker sauce was mildly spicy, with a flavor reminiscent of spicy mayo—very tasty.
– The vegetable additions were a nice touch.
Smoked Korean BBQ Bowl with Jasmine Rice
– The shredded beef brisket was tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection.
– The mushrooms and kimchi added depth to the dish.
– Paired perfectly with the fragrant jasmine rice.
– The sweet and smoky sauce tied it all together beautifully.
– A must-order!
Wagyu Beef Potstickers
– Crispy and juicy, though not bursting with flavor.
Smashed Apple Pie Dumplings with Vanilla Ice Cream
– A unique dessert that felt like a warm apple pie in dumpling form.
– The ice cream pairing elevated the dish—don’t skip it!
Drinks:
Taro Jasmine Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Boba
– Earthy and creamy, with just the right amount of sweetness.
– The jasmine added a unique twist to the taro, but I personally prefer taro on its own.
– Brown sugar boba was soft and perfectly cooked.
Thai Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Boba
– Nutty and earthy, with a pleasant sweetness that wasn’t overpowering.
– The brown sugar boba blended seamlessly with the milk tea.
I was thrilled to be invited to try Brooklyn Dumpling Shop, so I brought my friend Samantha along. We sampled a variety of menu items, and overall, the food was very tasty! The atmosphere is more casual, making it perfect for a quick meal or takeout. While it’s not the most incredible food I’ve ever had, it’s solid for what it offers. I’d definitely come back to explore more of their savory and sweet dumpling options—there are so many to try!
