Brooklyn Chop House Downtown NYC plays on the double meaning of the word Chop. Chop Steak to Chop Sticks. Marrying what made him a well-known name in the industry with Philippe Chow. Stratis has taken the best of those two menus and married them with Steakhouse classics like dry-aged 30-45 day Prime Steaks including Porterhouse. For 2, NY Strip, and Bone-In Rib Eye. The game-changer and the uniqueness of the BCH menu came home with taking the staples of his father’s Hilltop Diner such as the Pastrami, The Reuben, Philly Cheesesteak, Bacon Cheeseburger & the French Onion Soup and turning them into dumplings. This has driven the BCH concept viral on social media as the FIRST to reimagine the deli / diner sandwiches into dumplings.
Chic restaurant and bar offering American steakhouse fare, Chinese dumplings, Peking duck, and more.

Our food took a minute but worth the wait. Steak was perfect, shareable were flavorful, drinks were perfect. The Chinese food was amazing with a good portion. Fried rice was not salty and just right did not need additional seasoning. I loved my meal. Yes, thd food was pricey but damn it was worth every penny!!!
And the food? Chile… ON. POINT. Every. Single. Dish.
Even though I work with both locations, this one had an extra special touch last night. ✨

Drinks came first followed by food. I had what I believe was a Martini and a Strawberry and Watermelon Frozen beverage. Food ordered was Crispy beef which was tasty and sweet, had the texture and taste of chicken with sides of Mash and Garlic Broc. I did get to taste the Lamb-chops which was delicious, I feel in my heart I should have ordered that. The experience was cool, the server Alex was attentive and super observant. The only con was I woke with a massive headache which is a sign of cheap alcohol. So moving forward I would request for the ingredients and add as needed. Overall the experience was 8 out of 10 and I do and would recommend Brooklyn Chophouse. I intend on returning.
Sidebar you will most likely see someone there but remember they are human so give people privacy.
I visited Brooklyn Chop House to celebrate my niece and my son’s birthdays, and let me tell you the experience was top tier from beginning to end. From the moment we arrived, the host was welcoming, and then I met Ganga, who truly made the night special for my family, what a relief. It was a perfect day, perfect time and an experience.
We had a party of 8, and with large parties come certain kitchen rules. I’ll be honest, I don’t usually agree with rules like that, but Ganga took the time to explain the reasoning behind it in a way that made sense. Her respectful and thoughtful approach helped me see things differently, and I accepted the rule with understanding.
She guided me through the menu and pricing options, making sure everything felt clear and fair. When you spend money at a restaurant, you want to feel valued and Ganga made sure we did. Her customer service was exceptional, and she welcomed my family with genuine care.
Our server Michael was also fantastic, attentive, kind, and on point throughout the evening.
Ganga, thank you for taking the worry out of my head and helping me plan something meaningful for my son and niece. I’ve told everyone about you and how amazing the Nassau location is because you’re there. The world truly needs more people like you. People never forget how you make them feel.
I sincerely hope that the owners appreciate you because I sure did.
the steak was tender & juicy
The food is a bit on the bland side. They have a 40 dollar lunch menu with appetizers, entrees, and a chefs choice of dessert. I opted for the satay with peanut sauce, surprised to see such an item on the menu. They have a smattering of Chinese-American dishes for you to try. The “satay” was not really satay. It was two chicken tenders on skewers breaded in some red batter and doused in a sauce that tasted more of cheese than peanut. I think it was either fried or baked, since it was obviously not grilled like real satay.
For mains, I got the chicken sandwich and fries. Fries were plentiful, but underseasoned. The chicken sandwich was large and filling. Using breast meat, it is impressive that it is not a dry sandwich. However, without the pickle, you don’t get much standout flavor.
Dessert turned out to be red velvet cake with strawberry drizzle, which was good. They give you a dollop of cream and it is not too sweet.
When it came to service, the waiter was largely attentive but seemed to be running the floor alone, so there were times I didn’t see him to change plates. The big issue that came up was payment, during which I was mistakenly charged more than 3 times what my meal was supposed to cost. The lunch is only about 40 dollars, while my card was charged 170. While the waiter assured me it was adjusted, I saw that the charge of 170 remained on my card. It was unfortunate that the staff apparently were not able to remedy this issue.
