We got a table right away as there were only 5 other tables full when we arrived. We waited 10 minutes just for a server to take our drink order and food. 45 minutes later we were still waiting on our food, had not seen our waiter, and had no drink refills. After an hour and 30 minutes we asked for a manager which the staff couldn’t find. When asked about our food she was less than empathetic but rather annoyed we were even asking. Our food magically arrived a minute after asking her about it and we finally got drink refills. The food was mediocre at best with some of the sides being closer to raw than cooked. She never came back to even check in or offer any explanation or apology. We saw our server a total of 3 times the entire 2 plus hours we were there (not really her fault. She was running tables, the bar, etc while others just stood around). To not even get an apology or offer of even a free drink was kind of shocking.
Not to mention both myself and my friend were sick after we ate there.
Unfortunately we will not be returning due to the very poor customer service and food poisoning.

Horrible experience. We arrived around 1 pm on a Saturday with four small children (two of whom were lap infants) and four adults. We were seated immediately. The restaurant was maybe half full, and there were lots of empty tables in our area. We ordered two plain kids cheeseburgers, a tuna melt, and two cups of soup. Standard drinks. The sandwiches just came with chips or fries on the side, and I asked for an extra side of fries to come out early as the kids were hungry.
We waited an hour with increasingly miserable children, and began to debate whether going somewhere else would ultimately get them fed faster. When we approached the waitress to see what the issue was, she said another larger party near our table had ordered before us and they didn’t have their food either, as if that somehow made it acceptable.
The food finally arrived at 2:30 (all together, not even the fries made it to the table within 90 minutes), with one cup of soup missing. We received only one refill for our drinks during our meal. I asked to speak with the manager during the lengthy wait, but they never came out or came to our table. No apology. Not even a thank you for waiting. No one checked to see if our food looked as expected. I had to waive down the waitress to have the soup removed from the bill when we were ready to leave.
The check was slipped onto our table with no comment or eye contact, and came with a 20% auto-gratuity — with a line on the merchant copy to tip out on top of that with suggested percentiles. It was presented in such a way that had the service not been an issue and I wasn’t forced to examine the bill, I would have tipped another 20% without noticing. We were already late for our other engagements so I didn’t have time to dispute the auto-gratuity, but it felt dishonest and frankly insulting.
Safe to say that we will not be returning.

I have never asked for a manager at a restaurant but after an hour and 20 minutes of no food, no drink refill, and no waitress in sight, I assumed we’d been forgotten.
I had to walk up to the hostess stand to ask for a manager who seemingly couldn’t be found as the hostess frantically made a lap around the restaurant searching for them. Manager was apathetic at best, didn’t apologize for the wait just asked what table I was at and said she’d check on it. No apology from anyone but the poor kitchen staff that brought our food out looking in a state of defeat. Manager never came back to even check that we were taken care of and was not seen on the floor again despite the increasingly disappointed faces on other guests having a similar experience.
The food was ok I guess. No real flavor and certainly not worth waiting over an hour for someone to acknowledge our presence. It was edible and I was famished.
I, nor my friend, will be returning.

Always a pleasure dining in at Bronte Bistro. However, in today’s service I noticed I was charged an automatic 20% gratuity AND my receipt was still asking me to tip out. I’m sorry but I don’t think that is okay. Gratuity cannot be enforced on customers and still be asked to tip out. I’m unsure where the gratuity fee is being used, hopefully it goes straight back to the employees.
Outside of this, food was good as always. Photo is their Kentucky Hot Brown and their crab cakes. I always order the app crab cakes and the entree and combine them so I can have 5 instead of 3. Yes, they are yummy so 3 or 2 just ain’t enough.

Cool bistro inside the Joseph-Beth bookstore. The staff was awesome. Nice views of the park and poole. Had the Kentucky Brown. Large portion and is enough for two meals. Their system calculates the tip before tax, which is a nice touch. Recommend

My first time here. I loved it. I had a cup of Swedish Mushroom soup & a side of sweet potato fries with ketchup & side of bleu cheese ! Nice snack ! Beautiful ambiance ! Day I went -outside was covered in snow !

Glad I finally made it for brunch. I ordered a ham, cheese and onion quiche. It came with breakfast potatoes and fruit. The quiche portion was quite large and was so good. Loved the buttery crust and the perfectly cooked cheesy egg. They also provided a lot of perfect potatoes. Crispy outside, soft inside and a very nice seasoning. This was an excellent meal for the price.
As for the service, it was ok. Our waitress was attentive at the beginning but then seemed to get overextended as she was the only one able to do the bartending. So it took a while to get the check.

Food was good. Nice atmosphere and view, but I think they are short-staffed. We did not get any refills on drinks or the hot saice I asked for (waitress did not come back until she gave us our check) but she was still friendly and moved our table when we asked to get one by the windows! So it’s totally understandable
