Now the drinks! I got the Rebelde to start. I was going back and forth with the Corazone Salvaje (which i ended uo getting after). Both were delicious. The Rebelde did taste like boozy jicama fresca which was how my waitress described it. It was strong, too! The Carazone Salvaje was on the sweeter size but still great. I love guava and prickly pear so it was perfect.
The apps: I got the ceviche and omg let me tell you about the carrot-habanero clamato sauce! It was spicy, citrusy and delicious! The Kanpachi is light and the tostadas were perfectly crispy. I also tried the smoked salmon flautas. Ok, the presentation was fabulous! I wasn’t sure what to expect, and the first bite was a bit of a surprise. It didn’t taste bad but I have never had smoked salmon rolled up in a flauta before so it took me by surprise. Not sure if I’ll order it again, but it was good.
Main: I got the Rainbow trout and it was swimming in garlic butter. It was very flakey and delicious. I love garlic so it was perfect for me. It doesn’t come with anything so I ordered the half size tortillas, and made it into fish tacos. The tortillas as so good. Highly recommend getting those when you go. It was soft, and chewy and it was probably one of the best tortillas I have ever tasted.
Dessert: I got the Tres Leche Bundt cake to go and even the presentation in the to go box was impressive! It was rich, and soft, overall wonder texture along with edible flowers.
I will absolutely be back to try the enchiladas because I saw a lot of parties ordered it. So, it is definitely a popular dish here.
2 out of 3 dishes was slightly spicy, which was a bit of surprise, acceptable but best if the server could have mentioned this or the menu could have stated this.
Margaritas was good too.
A very enjoyable night.
Thank you
Even though it was only their second night open, the service was excellent. Everyone was kind, knowledgeable, and excited to share recommendations. Chef Ray personally brought several dishes to our table — such a cool touch.

Drinks
Spicy Margarita – The salt foam on top is unreal and perfectly balanced.
Destilando Amor – Smooth and flavorful with just the right amount of mezcal.
And for LA, the prices are really reasonable — a delicious margarita for $13!

Food Highlights
Guacamole & Chips – Thick, crisp chips that taste double-fried, with a bright, citrusy guac.
Ceviche – So fresh and clean with the perfect hint of heat.
Albondigas (Duck & Bacon Meatballs) – Incredible flavor and a sauce you’ll wish you could take home. Gluten-free, too.
Ensalada César – Black garlic dressing, shaved parmesan, and amazing house-made croutons — the star of the meal.
Chamorro (Beef Shank) – Deep, rich, melt-in-your-mouth flavor.

Five dishes for two was the perfect amount, though dessert would’ve been an easy “yes.”
Tip: Ask for the extra salsas — they’re delicious and spicy. If you’re heat-sensitive, let your server know.
Valet is $15, or try for a meter on Washington.
Broken Spanish Comedor is a true gem for the Mar Vista / Culver City area. Great food, great service, and a chef who clearly loves what he’s doing. Can’t wait to go back.
Everything was excellent from atmosphere, to service to food and drinks. There are a lot of upscale Mexican inspired restaurants all over the region but Broken Spanish definitely stands out. The tostada, tamal and ceviche were definite favorites, traditional choices prepared with creative ingredients. Prices were very reasonable and portions were just right
Definitely worth a visit and I know I’ll be back!
Extremely friendly wait staff from the FOH, to table and everyone in the kitchen looked happy as well.
Morgan was out server age had a great sense of humor. Would have liked a more regular check in as we waited a bit when we wanted something, having to go find someone for requests is a tad annoying, which we had to do twice, but it was a busy evening. Not her fault for sure! The misses.
Start with the tres leches dessert. Then order it again. Then make sure they have a few on standby for after the meal. Thank me later. Put better yet, leave one for me for a future pickup date.
The albondigas was the sleeper hit at the table. Subtle flavors and really well done. The seafood soup and the barbacoa were the tied winners and they were both absolutely on point. The enchiladas were interesting as well with a very nice medley of flavors.
The Cesar salad was nice but it was overly dressed. It’s like they coated each leaf separately with the dressing, which was tasty! But a bit much.
The refried beans were very ordinary as we’re the tortillas so you can afford to pass on those. There were 5 of us and we were all very full by the end of this, more so as I had 3 of the tres leches. By my self. Whatever, judge me, I don’t care!
All in all a very fun night, definitely recommend. 5 people, we spent about $125 pp with a drink and tip.
I’ll be back. For tres leches.
