Very tourist friendly bar. If you’re ever in town randomly on a Friday/Saturday be sure to check out this spot, very accommodating!

Good music, good bar. Not many people. Doesn’t have pool tables, even tho when I researched, it said they do. Nice atmosphere in general.

Having read the reviews now I understand that this bar doesn’t want tourists in there. Explains why there was no one in there on a Friday night. Absolutely dead. Fortunately there are 4 other bars on this little strip of road that were really friendly, great atmosphere and good drinks. If you’re from out of town head to one of the others.

The people here must really hate their job or maybe they just hate locals. Born and raised in Asheville, I came in trying to meet a friend, didn’t know the membership system as I’m new to bars, instead of just saying “hey your friend needs to sign you in as a guest” like a normal person, I had the doorman get in my face and tell me I was causing a problem and told me he wasn’t a messenger as I was apologizing to him. Unless you guys have Saddam’s weapons of mass destruction in that bar there is no reason to act like that to a young person clearly confused and just wanting to meet their friend. Treat your locals better. Unless you do have those weapons, in which case, as you were soldiers.

Hands down, this place has THE best booger wall out of any dive bar bathroom I’ve ever had the pleasure of pissing all over

I like the careful attention to detail, especially the older boogers that were painted over with a heavy coat of blue paint. I have always felt good art should be protected, so kudos to the owner !

The pool tables look like someone deliberately sprinkles dryer lint and pocket scrapings on them nightly, honestly I’ve been left pondering whether I should add a few boogers of my own

The smell alone earns Broadway’s my 5 stars

It was my home away from home for years and I miss it

Broadways is the dingy dive bar of your dreams(four pool tables), thoroughly tempted to tell you to stay away because it’s my choice drinking spot. But a few more friendly faces wouldn’t be bad. They’ve also got one of those totally enclosed outside drinking/smoking spots which is a rare find in Asheville.

Also beware it’s a membership club, easy to get into Mon-Thurs. But they don’t take new memberships Fri-Sun. Like no go whatsoever. Which means if you don’t have a membership, either don’t attempt it on the weekend or buddy up to someone who does so you can be their guest.

Also Corey the owner does late night food upstairs that is a life saver when you get the munchies.

What a cool dive bar. Lisa was our bartender and she was very helpful, sweet and attentive. The place has personality and the drinks are affordable and good. Highly recommended you come once if you haven’t been. When there is food, it’s darn good. Just need some regular food hours so we know what to expect.

First impression, terrible! My fiance and I walked over a mile to compete with each other in pool as per usual after a great dinner and drinks.. they turned us away because we are not already current members. On top of that, they do not mention anything online about a membership and told us there is not another pool spot close by. What a let down..

Broadway’s is the best local oriented bar in Downtown. Great food, great drinks, and a relaxed atmosphere make this one of my favorite places in all of Asheville. Predominately tourist free, this is a great place to relax after work and wind down.
