I hate leaving a bad review but there isn’t any way around this one.
We came here (3/6/26 – 11:20am) looking for Gelsosomos Pizza. I was informed that it was Gelsosomos too. It wasn’t the pizzeria “family atmosphere” I was looking for but it was clean and we really wanted pizza. There wasn’t a soul in the place and there was no smile or welcome to be found on the waitress’s face (short blonde hair, smug face.) I tried to make small talk and told her it was a “Girls Day” for me and my 7yr old – she just seemed be bothered by our presence rather than welcoming. We ordered a small “Extra Cheesy” pizza that was anything BUT cheesy. We waited 35 min for that small pizza while the two tables that came in well after us were served first. I do love Gelsosomos pizza but this was horrible, it was burnt cheese in several places (which I don’t mind but kids can and do) the crust was burnt and hard – again, I could have dealt with that (but shouldn’t have to and) my daughter didn’t like it at all. The pizza was supposed to have alI types of cheese on it but the texture was that of wax paper – no pull at all and that’s straight out of the oven! It was such a sad and disappointing start to what was supposed to be such a good day. Our waitress really just ruined the entire experience from start to finish; and she seemed so personable at 6 top of men who got served before us. I’ve never tipped so low in my life. However, I’ve never been made to feel so unwelcome and waited so long for burnt food either.

Im my opinion, best pizza ever, this time we tried some of their signature sandwiches and they were great! Pricing was reasonable on the food and they have daily drink specials, I would recommend this to others.

Great atmosphere whether youre having drinks at the bar or sitting at a table ordering a pizza. The fries are garlic butter and taste amazing! Cute little spot right in downtown Griffith.

Great atmosphere and good food, esp the Gelsosomos pizza. However, having only have a single person, private washroom for each sex is absolutely ridiculous for a busy bar/restaurant. Plenty of room in the men’s room to convert it to multiple urinals.

I usually don’t have any issues with service here but last night I waited 10 mins for a menu then when we got the food I was trying to track down the server to place a to go order and that took forever. We finished our food and still sat for 20 mins waiting for the check and the to go order. I had to go ask how much longer and found out it had been sitting in the warmer for sometime. By the time I got it it was old and dried up food. I use to go here every month but im done with this place now.

One of the best Tavern/Restaurants in the region and has become one of my top “Go-To’s.” Modern and clean and with garage doors to the street in front creating an open-air environment, they have one of the best atmospheres around. The service is continually above-average for the region. I’ve never waited for a drink or for someone to take my order. I think their active and engaged management plays a big role here. I’d go just for these two reasons combined. However, their food is top-flight for what it is. Now, don’t expect Michelin star gourmet, but do expect a well-rounded menu consistently prepared correctly or a cut above the competition.
Menu standouts are the pizza and their salmon. The pizza is Gelsosomo’s. If you’re familiar with the region you’re likely familiar with this Aurelio’s copy (sorry, but you know it’s true). I’ve had the “Gel’s” from a bunch of different locations in the region and think Broad Street Tavern puts out the best; and quickly and consistently. Then, the salmon is impressive. About as polar opposite from pizza as it gets. What’s impressive here is my experience with it correctly cooked consistently. It’s almost juicy, but not undercooked. Whereas my experience in the region has been the vast majority of places, even the “fancy” places, overcook their salmon. This dish will make you feel like you’re dining at a high-end restaurant.
And, they have about every sport you can imagine on TV and they’re happy to make sure the game you want is on and playing (so long as you’re not outnumbered 20-1; which is understandable). An awesome place for gameday.
I certainly hope they can keep their standards as high as they are and encourage you to patronize them when possible. They’ve been a fantastic addition to the region.

I invited my family to have a nice dinner. I saw a few people saying they like it there so I was excited to try it. The food was okay. The pizza was eh but I think they share with Gelsosomos. Italian beef’s are on toasted bread, which they liked. My salmon was good, roasted potatoes were great, just wasn’t a fan of the red pepper sauce it had an odd after taste.
However, that might just be the last time we go as the waitress with short blond hair didn’t really acknowledge us and looked annoyed the entire time. Basically straight out rude. We all noticed her speaking to other tables and not sure why we weren’t treated the same way. It wasn’t a full house and I believe only about 4 tables were occupied. We waited patiently but it did take longer than expected, no problem since most restaurants are like that now. We always clean up our mess and put dishes together so it’s easier for the establishment we left her a good tip too, so we know we weren’t the problem. I was pretty upset because I thought this would be our new hang out place. I was embarrassed that my family experienced that since I was hyping it up to them. Unfortunately, we also are not the only one that experienced this, as a few others also told us about their not so great experience there as well.
