Stopped on our trip home to NoVa. Right on the main street makes for tricky parking during the day, but easy to find. Quick diner food, friendly people, and pretty cheap for a lunch stop! I loved the retro comic and Beatles decor above the bar.

I picked up lunch here on my way to work today for the first time and LOVED every moment I spent in this cool hidden gem in downtown Bristol! Excellent service and I felt right at home. The food is delicious and affordable! The waitresses and staff brought a smile to my face and were very friendly and the service was fast, but quality! The chef is the best and all of them even introduced themselves to me upon walking in, which was so neat! Jessica was a great waitress and talked to me the whole time while I waited on my order and I feel like I made a new friend today! The diner is beautiful, immaculate, and the music is upbeat, too!

Their crinkly fries are so good! I’m not normally a fry person. Prices are super reasonable. Staff was friendly and awesome! We had the burgers and enjoyed them, although the meat patties themselves were a bit dry, the flavors blended well together.

This is a MUST when visiting Bristol. It’s the neatest lunch counter from days gone by. Real not just retro.
The food is great but the family who owns and operates it makes it all a perfect spot for lunch or a coffee and sweet treat. They are engaging and so welcoming. The menu is made with love. The banana pudding is made with extra love.

Brilliant Window Cleaning
Great Food , absolutely loved sitting out on State Street. I had the Bristol Dog combo, very good. My wife had the Hot ham& Swiss melt, she raved about it. Many of the downtowners say it’s the “Best of Bristol “, I’ll definitely stop in again, great prices!!!!

Super friendly staff that remember me every time I come in for lunch. They are very accommodating and will suggest new things once they get to know you. Excellent sandwiches hot or cold. Potato salad was missing some salt, unfortunately. Awesome peach tea at a great price. Check out their little boutique with gourmet, paintings and kitchen goodies. Quaint and has a nice community vibe.

BUT…….The young lady that checks you out needs to wash her hands and clean her finger nails!!! Each time I have been in there they were nasty and the back of the pad where she handles to ring you up was nasty also!
I know she probably or hopefully does not mess with the food BUT she does handle our money and credit cards.

The wait staff was great and they really made us feel welcomed, which is why I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1. I ordered the classic burger and fries. The toppings and the bun were good but the meat tasted reheated and under seasoned. The tea initially was a little sour, as if it was sitting in the canister too long. On second refill it was good.
I’m not sure if my experience was because of covid affecting the number of people coming in or if this place normally is like this. From looking at the other reviews I hope it’s from covid. Otherwise, sadly underwhelmed by my experience.

I adore this place. I felt so welcomed, and this is my first time in Bristol. Joyce, Jessica, and Owen are the best. The chicken salad is yummy, and the apple cobbler will make you sing.
