Immaculate vibes, warm & friendly staff, and great food. Crab balls? Fresh & delicious. Burger? Towering and juicy. All reasonably priced. Definitely a neighborhood dive feel. This place gets busy so be prepared to wait for your drink and even more for your food.

First time at the Broad Axe. We tried the catfish sandwich and it definitely exceeded my expectations. It came with old bay chips which were a nice addition. Atmosphere is pleasant. Parking was a little tricky at first because we arent from the area but we called the restaurant and they were very helpful. They explained that after 5pm, street parking is free and behind their restaurant is parking. Looking forward to our next visit!

This was our first time here and the food was great. The drinks were great as well and not watered down. The service was prompt and our waitress was very helpful. They have a week stocked selection of bourbon and whiskey to include some Rye’s. The bar area was pretty quiet for noise and it was a Saturday so that was a good surprise. It’s in downtown so traffic is busy and parking can be difficult if you’re unfamiliar with the area. Great food and a good time was had.

The food was phenomenal i got the shrimp po boy and it looked fantastic and was extremely delicous. Atmospshere was great and they just got new bar chairs in which are actually super comfortable.
Massive downside is you pay and upcharge of 2 dollars for fries and in return you get a small handful. Do a favor to your patrons and dont let them go home hungry because of a small amount of fries.

Park infront of restaurant, don’t walk through Hagerstown at night. Great beers. Great prices. Wednesday is karaoke night, a lot of fun. I was staying near Hagerstown for work. Picked this place out of a dozen. Chicken BLT sandwich is top notch.

I went into the Broad Axe around 5pm on a Friday and the place was packed! I did find an empty bar stool (one of the most comfortable bar stools I’ve sat in) and was given a drink menu, a food menu, and a list of specials. I wanted a beer, but there was a comprehensive list of brews on draft so I asked to try 2 of their hazy IPA’s. After deciding on one, I ordered the blackened salmon with Brussels sprouts and little potatoes off the specials list. Andrew and Janelle provided quality service as they handled the onslaught of Friday evening customers. When the food arrived, I was delighted by the best fish plate I couldn’t have made at home. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Hagerstown.

Has a bit of a “pool hall” atmosphere, but don’t let that stop you. Food was great! Staff was attentive and friendly. Close to other cool places. Walkable area. Catfish bites were yummy.

Amazing service! We were asked often if we needed anything and we were brought our food and drinks quickly! We sat ourselves and were helped within the minute we sat down. The food was more misleading due to the menu, we did order more food later since we assumed the serving size would be larger but even with ordering another appetizer the price was still reasonable. The food was good but we suggest ordering appetizers along with a meal, would eat here again!
