Get the Comebacker sauce!
The awesome dude behind the counter recommended the Smash Burger, but as it wad my first time in PA, I went with the Cooper Steak, Dipper Fries and Comebacker sauce.
The steak was fresh, cheesey and hit the spot on a cold day.
OK, I like fries, and these were freaking fantastic. Especially with the sauce, which got it’s own photo. A small fies, drink and a sandwich was more than enough to fill me up.
Quaint little sandwich stop.
Come for the flavor and the staff.
And they have a whole hook of allergens outlining ingredients in each dish. So if you have allergies, look it up to make sure you’re safe. It was awesome to find this as you don’t usually see this in small shops.
There’s two locations and the original is in a gas station. We originally went to that one, however we had a pretty bad experience with the service there to the point we turned around and left and didn’t order. The person working the register was clearly having a very bad day and was outwardly expressing it towards us and the surrounding people, while I get it, they really needed to either take a break or not be on register at that point. Hopefully whatever was going on, their day got better, as it must have been significant. We decided we weren’t going to give up and since we knew there were two locations we decided to move to the other location.
We are incredibly glad we decided to give it another shot. We got the OG Reggie burger which is just onions, pickles, and American cheese. The smash burger is a true real smash burger, super crispy lacy edges, the bun was soft, pickles were crunchy, and onion was diced nicely. One of the better burgers I’ve had in western PA for sure.
I also got the cooper steak, ribeye steak with cooper sharp cheese and onions on a fresh Liscio’s roll. The roll was super soft and fresh, it held together amazingly well. There was a LOT of cheese on this sucker and the ribeye was really high quality. This sits firmly as my number 2 cheesesteak in the entire western half of PA, beaten only by common oven. I prefer the toasted seeded rolls of common oven and some of the other true steak shops in Philly. It was still incredibly good.
Lastly we tried the birria tacos. I would say these are solid, they’re not bad, had a nice crunch, they were stuffed full of meat and cheese. The consume was really great as well.
Overall this place is definitely worth a drive or a visit if you’re in the area or want to take a day trip to the great north of PA.
Now the birria tacos…fan-freaking-tastic! Not just good, amazing. It’s what put them on the map, and I can see why. Tender meat, juicy before you dip it into the juice. The dipping fries are not to be missed either. Those sauces are great. I’ll be back again for some of those burgers!!!!
I love the new location. Congrats
I suggested to my father that we eat lunch here. We had a lovely time. The cashier was very friendly & understanding about my dads hard if hearing. The employee who brought put food out was also smiling & welcoming. My dad loved his meal. He actually had me take his photo which brought me alot of joy. He has also been a die hard Raiders fan for years upon years. So he enjoyed the decor. I used to skateboard over to the pizza bomber gas station location & grab dinner. Always loved the food. Thank you for staying true & keeping your menu exact & to the point. Peace
The burgers are very well prepared with the right amount of crisp in the smash burger. I also really enjoyed the Philly cheese steak sub. Overall a great addition to the Erie food scene!
