That said, every successful visit to Brix Tasting Room has been a joy. The owner’s warm welcome and friendly demeanor add a personal touch to the experience that is both refreshing and endearing.
The wine selection at Brix is extensive and rotates regularly, ensuring there’s always something new to try. While this does mean that they may occasionally run out of your favorite, the opportunity to discover a new favorite is always exciting. They offer reasonably priced tasting flights from a limited menu, but I believe a bit of negotiation could open up tastes from the full menu if the flight options don’t suit your preferences.
While the food menu may not be extensive, the quality of their offerings is impeccable. You can tell there’s a great deal of care and pride put into each dish in terms of both taste and presentation. On my last visit, I enjoyed a baked brie dish that was absolutely divine.
The atmosphere inside Brix is cozy and inviting, making it a wonderful place to unwind. Their quaint, vine-clad patio offers a delightful space for al fresco dining and wining, adding a charming touch to the overall experience.
Service at Brix is consistently attentive. Each visit feels like a curated experience, with staff going above and beyond to make sure you’re well taken care of.
In conclusion, Brix Tasting Room, despite its elusive hours, is a fantastic spot for wine lovers. With its wide variety of wines, quality food, and cozy atmosphere, it’s a place that every wine enthusiast should explore.
This is my 5th time trying to visit Brix with a gift card I ordered 2 years ago. I call beforehand, look online at their website, check their socials, and still they randomly are never open. I’m starting to wonder if it is a scam, and hope to get a refund on the giftcard I ordered for my dad and I.
I understand things happen with being a family run operation, but frankly it comes off as unorganized & unprofessional. Other vendors and small business owners could be using this space in Michigan City, and it is rather a waste when others could be supporting the community on a more frequent, dependable basis.
Please offer more transparency on this lack of consistency & remove the listed “business hours” entirely from both your website and Google maps when they are fairly often not honored. Wanted to support local and regret it due to the flexibility in their standard operating hours.
For the goodness of your brand, and just state your hours are “open when we feel like it”.
Note: I took this photo while outside their door, with no note on it, no word or highlight on their website, Instagram, or Facebook mentioning a last minute closing today on Saturday 10/19/24, around ~5-5:30pm.
Thanks!
Now keep in mind that this is a mom & pop style winery so their availability may not always match Google. We went the week prior and learned that the hard way. When mentioned to the owners he explained why they had to close. Totally respectful and apologetic. My only suggestions to patrons would be to follow their Facebook because it seems they are pretty current there. If you can get past that, I would say this winery is totally worth it! They’re also open later than normal wineries but it’s still very chill all throughout the night. We were there a little after closing to finish our bottle and never once did we feel like they were annoyed or fed up with waiting.
We have decided that this will be a weekly spot!
In short good food, wine and great people. We will definitely return.
Thank you
