Our server was young and hadn’t been serving long but she was really nice. She was honest with us. Told us our food would take awhile and that the kitchen was slammed. We didn’t mind as our appetizers were good and we ordered some drinks that were good. She brought us bread but told us they were running out of butter. I didn’t mind because you could look around and see they were packed.
We get our entrees after about an hour and a half. My husbands surf and turf was not edible. The steak was tough and according to him it tasted like it had been out waiting for a long time. My food was burnt but since we were asking for reimbursement on my husbands meal, and the waitress was upset to see we were disappointed, I didn’t have the heart to tell her I didn’t like mine either.
She gets her manager to address my husband’s meal and it felt like the manager tried to argue my husband down about his meal. I had every intention of going back to give them another chance until this happened. If you know your kitchen is having a hard time and you get a customer who tells you their food is unsatisfactory why would you try to argue them down? We won’t be back.
I gave the service 5 stars based on our experience with the server alone. The manager and whoever cooked our food get 0 stars. The Caesar salad was good though.
The food itself was fantastic and plentiful, really liked the cinnamony crispy fruity dish they had and the sausage links were delicious! Loved all the protein options, I had a fried chicken thigh, but the fish looked great too. The fruit table in the middle had some great pineapple and melon, and the dessert table was also packed with good stuff.
The buffet line could have been organized a little better – the line started back where the waffles were, but the plates weren’t until after the waffle station. It’s awkward to reach between people in line to get a plate, then get back into the line to wait for the waffles if you want them. Also, the staff were constantly having to navigate between customers in line, requiring us to navigate with them in response. I don’t fault the staff for that! But maybe just more clearly delineated signs and/or instructions and plate placement would improve the experience.
The service was top-notch, our server kept our drinks filled and was very attentive, which was impressive given that she was also bartending! Definitely tip your servers well folks, they work very hard and do a great job.
Great place to take the family for brunch! A little on the pricier end but worth it for a special occasion.
