Had a really great lunch recently in Oviedo, FL when I stopped by Briskets BBQ Shack & Grill.
This old building has housed a lot of BBQ over the years, but this is easily one of the best local to Florida, Texas-style BBQ spots I’ve tried in a long time. It’s a small, mom-and-pop operation, and they’ve transformed the place into an awesome little BBQ shack.
I tried the pulled pork, pulled chicken, and sliced brisket sandwiches — all perfectly tender and full of flavor. For sides, I had the baked beans and southern-style green beans with potatoes, and both were excellent.
Food is takeout only, but there places to sit outside if you want to stay and eat.
Hours can be limited and they do sell out, so go early if you can.
I’ll definitely be back.
If you like BBQ, try it all!

Went for breakfast with a group of men, who found the meals excellent. I had brisket bowel
and grits with two fried eggs, in addition the group had a brisket omelette, brisket & potatoes with eggs & a large breakfast brisket sandwich. With a tip it was $41.00 which is an excellent value. Found a new spot that can’t go wrong.

We drove across town to check out this BBQ spot and we were not disappointed! It has a counter to order and several indoor tables to eat at. The staff was friendly and attentive. The BBQ was tender and not dry. We liked their sauce. If you stop by, do yourself a favor and order the mac n cheese! It’s the best I’ve had in years!!

I seen the reviews and decided to give them a try. So here is an honest review based on my opinion. The establishment seems very popular, and the smell of the smoked meat lured me in for sure. Parking is “ self parking and first come first serve “ aka fit in where you can adjacent to the restaurant. This is a good “ as they say mom and pop restaurant “ aka seemed to be family owned. Really gave “ Florida vibes “ aka southern hospitality. Small in the inside and out . Nice picnic seating “ outdoors to eat your meal . Staff were welcoming and friendly. Clean and well staffed. I really wanted some ribs, but I was told they ran out, wanted some chicken, was told they ran out lol. So note to self. “ come early , got it. So I settled for the burnt ends and pulled pork. Both meats were tender and juicy . The beans were al dente , the Mac and cheese was interesting- boiled pasta with the cheese poured on top . But if I may suggest a little seasoning, for example “salt and pepper would really make it irresistible. The sweet potato, could use some flavor , may I suggest cinnamon and brown sugar ? The added nuts is a great touch. I also purchased the meat pies, they were nice and flaky and buttery with good tender meat inside. I was disappointed that I didn’t have any bbq sauce on my meat or even on the side, for a bbq joint, I thought this would have been offered “ again even on the side but no. I think the meat pies would be great with something to dip them in, as well as the option for “ bbq sauce “ toppings on the meat. And as I mentioned, I am debating if I want to try them again, I would like to try the ribs and chicken? I’m indecisive at the moment. The large portion sizes are a plus, but it’s more side portion than meat portion , but you still get “ full “ for what you pay.

I came here on a Monday evening. Upon entrance, I realized that this establishment was just a described, a shack. However, cleanliness was not in the title nor the shack. There were three people working, two of whom I had interaction with. Alyssa & Pete were very friendly and interested in the fact that there was a customer present, the third was crouched down to the ground on his phone hovering by a cooler of sorts. I had the two meat w/two side platter with no drink. The ribs were 50% off so for 1/2 slab & brisket, “smoked mac n cheese” & Bob’s beans. My total was $29 & change. The brisket was the star of the show here but was the last amount I’ve ever gotten at any BBQ restaurant in my life. It was tender and tasty. The ribs made me question how long they had been cooked or stored because the bones dissolved when attempting to pick it up to eat it. And the sides? Well the sides were so underwhelming that I was left in awe with disappointment. They were cold, and I mean not even luke warm. Smoked mac & cheese was merely elbow noodles that had a sad attempt of a cheese sauce put on it as I ordered it with no smoke flavor whatsoever, was it really smoked? Highly unlikely. The beans were mediocre at best, but covered with a super sweet BBQ sauce that was trying to mask the lackluster flavor. Over all, if you’d like a tremendously overpriced meal with hopes & dreams in the oh so far distance than this is the place for you. If your looking for a full well balanced quality meal that is quality for the money you spend then I’d just skip this place. Sorry but I will not be recommending to anyone…EVER.

We recently stopped in for lunch and thought it was a good spot to try, especially for the price. The lunch combo is very reasonably priced and comes with a side and a drink, which makes it a great value.
Our family tries a lot of BBQ places, so we might be a little more picky than most when it comes to BBQ flavors and styles. Overall, the food was good and the portions were solid. One of my sons ordered the large bowl and he really enjoyed it.
We’ll likely go back again and try their ribs, since that’s usually our favorite at BBQ places. If you’re in the area and looking for a good lunch deal with generous portions, it’s definitely worth stopping in and trying it for yourself.

This place was awesome a cute little shack plenty of parking and relaxed atmosphere inside is where the magic happens. Amazing people who somehow knew I was picking up an order without me saying anything. The smells were beyond belief. Everything was so hot fresh steaming, and you cannot beat the price above and beyond some of the best tasting barbecue and food without paying an arm and a leg highly recommend will definitely return.

Our son and daughter-in-law love this place, and we FINALLY had a visit where we could try out the BBQ. Wowza!! We’re from Iowa, and we KNOW pork. This got rave reviews from the entire family. And the staff? Couldn’t have asked for nicer service! We arrived for lunch around 1:30 pm on a Thursday, and it was still hopping busy. Kinda worried they’d be out of stuff, but we lucked out. Burnt ends were my favorite. Tender, juicy and packed with flavor, sauce provided, but not really needed. Brisket was great and the chicken was juicy and seasoned beautifully. I ordered coleslaw (good) and mac n cheese (great), and they threw in an order of the baked beans for us to try, just for fun. While I’m not a lover of baked beans, my family seemed to enjoy them. The fact that it had a “street food” vibe with picnic tables outside to eat at was a checkmark in the owner’s favor for us, because it felt like home. We left in food coma’s because the servings were plentiful. If you don’t like the idea of messy, picnic style BBQ, go somewhere else. But, if you want delicious homestyle food that is very reasonably priced served by kind and generous homey folks, don’t hesitate. And tell them “the folks from Iowa” sent you.

Not only is this the best barbecue in Oviedo but it’s the best in Orlando. They have little to no waste, they hand make all their desserts and the smoker never stops. Best of all, their smash burgers are fresh and absolutely delicious. Briskets is constantly helping out the local community as well! Pig out with confidence!
