Social Profile:

Briny Swine Chicago is a seaside-inspired smokehouse and oyster bar featuring Carolina-style barbeque, seafood and Lowcountry classics, served with a side of sass. It’s a local joint where friends and family gather to laugh and forget about life in the big city while they get in on some Southern hospitality and good eatin’. Rosé, bourbon, cocktails and beer are aplenty…and on a steady flow. Whether you’re on vacation, passing by after a long day of work or catchin’ the big game, Briny is that place where all are welcome, from all parts, and no one cares about the rest.

Good barbecue in Chicago Is surprisingly hard to come by. You would think that a world class city like Chicago would have a lot of good choices for barbecue, but sadly it does not. One great exception is Briny Swine. First, the food is excellent. I ordered sweet tea, the mac and cheese skillet, BBQ totchos, jalapeño chedder and bacon cornbread, 1/2 rack St. Louis ribs platter, pork belly platter and for dessert the pluff mud pie and white chocolate naner puddin. My favorites were the mac and cheese skillet, 1/2 rack St. Louis ribs platter and white chocolate naner puddin. The ribs area some the best I’ve in Chicago And you need to order them when you go. The mac and cheese skillet was loaded with brisket and a metric ton of yummy toppings. Second, the service was excellent. My server was attentive and the food came out very quickly. The ambiance was great. The restaurant had the vide of a roadside county roadhouse. I was there on a Friday and live music played all night long.

This is a must visit for good barbecue in Chicago.

Briny Swine can definitely pull you all the way in with their pulled pork egg rolls, crispy fried green tomatoes, wings and whiskey flights that are flowing.

The vibe is definitely “come as you are.” Live music, good drinks, games on the screens, people shooting pool, laughter and dancing everywhere but if you want a quieter atmosphere, just slide to the other side of the restaurant.

This is a good spot for unwinding, catching a game, date night, girls’ night, or just escaping life for an hour. Enjoy!

The oysters were on point and the barbecue was unexpectedly fabulous. As a southerner I am quite particular and they knocked it put of the park with the choices of bbq. The listing for their bubbly happy hour was a bit confusing and I think they should change their menu. But the drinks were amazing and I will certainly be visiting again ASAP.

Food was absolutely delicious!!! Would highly recommend and look forward to returning. Our waiter could have been more attentive and service oriented but everyone has a one off and this may have been the case.

We went here to celebrate our anniversary. Our mistake. Our first clue was the fact that it was quite empty on a Saturday night. Only reason it gets 2 stars is because service was not bad. Our table was so wobbly that our drinks kept spilling. Besides the beet salad which was quite good the food is bland, tasteless and tough. We ordered oysters which turned out to be nickel size, very disappointing. I’ve had better pre-packed pulled pork from the grocery store. The ribs were very tough to eat. The coleslaw had no taste other than the few bits of bacon in it. We did not need to order dessert since the baked beans were so SWEET. I would never go back nor will recommend it to anyone. GO ELSEWHERE!!

It was my first time dining at this restaurant, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed with their delicious BBQ ribs and mouthwatering cornbread. In fact, I would say that their BBQ ribs are the best I’ve ever had in Chicago. I’m already planning to return to try their other BBQ dishes and side dishes as well!

Fellow Chicagoan living on the east coast, came here on a recommendation from a family member while visiting. This ended up being the go to place in a sea of restaurants. 1st night we both had the ribs and wow! They were great! Nice smokey flavor and great sauce to go with it. Oh yeah, they were falling off the bone. Friday we came back for music and this time I had the brisket… Nice! Flavorful and tender. Music was fantastic as well! I’ll be back on my next visit!

Amazing gem in Lincoln Park! Great food and live music on the weekends! Some of the best brisket I’ve ever had and they make a fantastic burger. Sides don’t slouch, either.
