The very best pecan pie (5/5) I’ve had in NOLA. Oof it had crackly crisp pecans on top with a maply dark caramel and a perfect crust. The filling was also just the right amount of sweetness. Truly the highlight of the meal. The bisque (4/5) was excellent. The seafood sampler (3.5/5) was okay – the crawfish cornbread and the fish were good but the oysters were meh. I would just get the fish instead. Also staff is super sweet. Overall I’d recommend but definitely call to make a reservation.

We celebrated our Anniversary here. The food, staff and atmosphere were Amazing. Jane, our server, did a Fantastic job keeping us happy. I had the Broiled Gulf Fish with Crab Crust. It was So Delicious. My wife had the Pan roasted Pork Chop. Cooked perfectly and very tasty.

We researched restaurants in New Orleans before our trip and discovered Brigtsen’s because the Chef studied under and worked with Paul Prudhomme. We were not disappointed. The food was magnificent and the service was superb. Our waiter Ben was delightful and so interesting. The entire experience was top tier and I highly recommend.

Outstading service and atmosphere, incredibly delicious cuisine.
We got lucky and they were able to squeeze us in (apparently they only take reservations via phone).

I was in New Orleans for 7 days and are 16 meals. This was by far my favorite. It’s out of the way but well worth the trip. Oh, and et the Shrimp and Squash Bisque. The single best dish I had my entire time in New Orleans.

Using Google and Reddit this was an easy decision for dinner during our short trip to Nola. ZERO DISAPPOINTMENT.

Everything that came to the table was 10/10. Don’t miss the opportunity to eat here.

Restaurant itself is in an older and dated house but don’t let you fool you. The 40 years of experience coming out of the kitchen is what you’re there for.

Immaculate. A term defined by perfection and exemplified by our culinary experience here. Delicious vibrant dishes and incredible service combine to create a transcendent dining extravaganza. Truly the pictures can never do service to the featured dishes. Each bite was worth every dollar spent. Come for a scintillating tongue pleasing experience and leave full and well satiated in all dimensions.

Love the atmosphere here so much. We had a great dinner all around with the amazing seafood platter as a memorable dish and wonderful desserts. The chocolate cake was outstanding. Wonderful service too. Loved it!!

Don’t let the exterior full you, this cute little cottage is bursting at the seams with culinary flavor. The cocktails were well crafted, the seafood platter was amazing, curry shrimp bisque on point and the blueberry lemon creme brulee… Sooooo gooooood!

It’s a bit pricey and you need a reservation but it’s definitely worth it for the experience. Never felt rushed.

Brigtsen’s was a massive disappointment. It seems to be very snobbish and my party really did not feel at all welcomed. They sat us in a dark corner of the restaurant, and when we asked the hostess if we could move, she simply said that there is nothing she could do, even though the restaurant had plenty of empty tables.

One member of our party had some dietary restrictions, and the waitress really did not seem to care. That person ended up not eating because of this. It felt like the waitress spent most of the night seemingly flirting with a table of women than actually waiting. Whenever she did eventually decide to do her job, she always had a Karen attitude and was just going through the motions. There was always an edge to her, and we could never figure out why.

The food itself was just okay, so if you feel like spending $32 on a mediocre entree in one of the best culinary cities in the US, then this is your place.

The real “highlight” of our meal was the french bread, but you won’t get this for free like at most New Orleans restaurants. Oh no, we somehow ended up with a $7 charge for this, and no, the waitress did not tell us 🙂
If you’re a tourist (or even a local for that matter), do not waste one of your meals on Brigtsen’s. From the snobby vibes to our Karen waitress, you’re best finding your way to a cheaper and better establishment in this great city. What a disappointment indeed.
