The drinks and dessert were the best parts.

We dined at Brigade for our anniversary dinner. I had high hopes; but, unfortunately, it wasn’t great. Some parts were better than others though.

I’ll start with appetizers. We ordered oysters and a baguette. The oysters were good but I found the mignonette lacking flavor. There was nothing special about the baguette. We were given two options for compound butter and asked if we could try both. The sweeter of the two options was better and we were charged for the second.

My husband and I both ordered ribeyes with chimichurri for our entrees. Both steaks were overcooked and not at all tender. We’ve had better at more affordable restaurants.

I ordered the “Boss Nova” cocktail, the flavors were okay for the most part but it was severely watered down. My husband ordered the non-alcoholic “Cream Dream” and had the same response.

The dessert was definitely the star of the show. We opted for the Banana Tarte Tatin and Kladdkaka. It was definitely the highlight of the entire meal.

Food aside, the restaurant was a little noisy, which was to be expected. The part of the experience we primarily found lacking was the service. Our waitress very rarely checked on us and only refilled our water once.

I’m bummed we had a lackluster experience. If we ever come back, it would just be for dessert.

Brigade definitely has a more upscale menu and feel. Nice wide and open bar with stool seating around. Open kitchen has a fun feel to it. Chairs are surprisingly supportive but somewhat odd at the high table we were at. Just much deeper and softer than one would expect so beware. Smaller but decent list of draft beers and a huge selectionh of various liquors and spirits including a nice wine list. food was quite good and among the best for our week in Bozeman. Staff very attentive – Lucy was excellent managing our large group with aplomb. Charcuterie board was tasty with delicious olives but way too much mustard and not enough cheeses. Crab cakes were ok – too crunchy for me – but you’re likely not in Bozeman for seafood. The bison short rib was divine. Polenta super creamy and flavorful. Collards packin an amazing vinegary punch. Definitely pricy but worth the extra bucks.

I’ve enjoyed many happy hours at Brigade, and it never disappoints! They have some of the best happy hour deals around— martinis, cocktails and beer specials. The fries are tasty, the oysters are fresh, and while I haven’t tried much else on the menu yet, everything I’ve had has been enjoyable. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and the setting above Main Ave is a fantastic spot to relax. I also love that the restaurant has several different spaces, making it fun to sit in a new area each visit and experience a different vibe.

Stopped by Brigade at the tail end of lunch service, so service was a bit non-existent throughout.

4 of us had:
brigade house salad $17
2 frites $12 ea
french onion $13
pork ribs $19
4 health shots

They do have a 3% credit card surcharge that we weren’t aware of.

We also did order the chicken and waffles, but the server forgot, since the fries were on the larger portions and were very salty, so it definitely satiated our appetite.

Overall, food was decent.

Street parking only.

This is a fancy restaurant with way too great of a happy hour menu. There were cheap great drinks, my friend had a $3.50 martini and I had a lemon sour. The Parmesan fries on happy hour were only $10 and were delicious served with ranch.

I would definitely come back for happy hour and even dinner, great vibe inside and the food and drinks were great. 10/10 happy hour!

Chic downtown eatery with cool vibes and a great happy hour! Craft cocktails are spot on. Warm atmosphere with a mix of booths barstools and tables. Private dining room available for parties. Open for lunch and dinner and brunch on occasion

Oysters were fresh and shucked to perfection. Mignonette was lacking in “fresh” flavor. Crab cakes were delicious. Wine list is heavily marked up with very little varietal selection. Every main course we had was undercooked. The sea bass was a little cold. Feels like it was seared off and put in a low temp oven. Short rib was still sinewy, and didn’t fall apart. Mentioned faults to server but nothing was done to resolve. I would come back for happy hour (where prices reflect the quality) , but not to dinner again.

Strong LA vibes that are shaking up Bozeman and Brigade is still very Montana. Good bar & food and attentive service. Tangy tender ribs disappeared before I could get a photo. Wine flights are great adventures and hint at how the bar thoughtfully pairs with the kitchen. Salads were well accompanied by shrimp and steak. Steak Fries very nicely adorned with red peppers.

During my brief stay in Bozeman, I was eager for a remarkable dining experience, but it ultimately fell short of my expectations. I want to start by highlighting the positive aspects: the service was fantastic. The staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive, making me feel welcomed. The ambiance was also appealing, with a rustic chic design that created a pleasant atmosphere.

However, the meal itself was a disappointment. I ordered the pork tenderloin, priced at $32, and anticipated a truly exceptional dish, especially since that cut is generally quite affordable. Unfortunately, I found myself underwhelmed. The dish featured four slices of pork that were unevenly cooked, accompanied by two sauces that didn’t seem to complement each other. One sauce had a hint of flavor, while the other was completely bland. To add insult to injury, my side of broccolini consisted of just three small pieces. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, and I will seek other options on my next visit.

Excellent food! The atmosphere was fantastic with a very inviting bar area and open kitchen. The menu was a little bit limited but everything we ordered was very good with the exception of the sweet pickle on my patty melt. (but I’m sure some folks would like that) My wife LOVED the pesto caprese grilled cheese and their Caesar salad was fabulous. I definitely recommend this place
