Had the newest menu item – Mango Shrimp Tacos. The only drawback is it takes time for the food to arrive. For me, it took around 20 mins. But the flavor of the food was good. Liked the taste of the mango in it. Service was not up-to the mark. Atmosphere and Ambience is good m.
I was not disappointed. Everything came as ordered and was packaged well. The chicken sandwich and okra portions were huge so I have enough for another meal. My only critique for those were they both needed a dash of salt.
The cup of French onion soup was very good. I wish it would have had a bread topping to go along with the cheese but the flavor of what I did get was great.
I will eat here again next time I’m in town.
Only issue we had were the sweet potatoe fries, they were a bit cold when they came out but no big deal, still tasted good.
No comparison between now and then.
Seasoning was great on the chicken fry.
Chicken was tender and moist with less seasoning than the chicken fry.
Breakfast burger was also good with a wonderful hickory taste.
Noticed they also have a Kolsch beer I need to try next time and I’m not driving.
The parking lot was packed, which usually signals a long wait, but to our delight, we were seated within 10 minutes. That’s better than most places on a busy night. Our waiter was both enthusiastic and professional, setting the tone for the meal right away. Drinks arrived promptly, and we navigated the menu with ease, quickly honing in on our choices.
I opted for the gumbo—a dish I sincerely hope earns a permanent spot on the menu. The balance of flavors was spot on, with the rich, savory sauce coating every bite of shrimp, chicken, and sausage. My only wish? The option to swap chicken for beef. That would’ve made it perfect for me.
As we waited for our food, my family relaxed, sipping their drinks, while I did what I always do—I took a quick lap around the restaurant. There’s something electric about a packed dining room, the hum of conversation and the clinking of glasses promising a meal worth savoring. I stopped by the restroom, half-expecting the usual chaos that comes with a full house. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised. Not only was it spotless, but it smelled fresh—clean, inviting, and well-maintained. A detail like that speaks volumes. If a restaurant takes pride in keeping its restrooms pristine, it gives me confidence in the unseen areas—like the kitchen.
Back at the table, I settled in, just in time for our food to arrive—about ten more minutes, which gave me just enough time to truly enjoy my beer. And then, there it was: my gumbo. As I mentioned earlier, it was excellent. Now, I’ll admit, I’m no gumbo connoisseur. In fact, I’ve never had “real” gumbo before, only imagined what it should taste like. But somehow, this dish matched exactly what I had envisioned. Maybe a gumbo purist would say otherwise, but for what it was, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I had been a bit skeptical about my choice, but thankfully, it didn’t disappoint.
As for the rest of my family, they were just as satisfied. Some had burgers, others went for fried chicken and sandwiches, and every plate was met with nods of approval.
So, thank you, Bricktown Brewery, for a fantastic meal and for adding your special touch to our family dinner. It was the perfect way to kick off the weekend on a high note.
