Friends. Let me tell you about this new barbecue spot on Calhoun called Brickstreet. It’s about a block south of Saigon Korean.

I know One of the owners, so he invited me down to try the menu. Every single item on the menu.

I’m going to try my best to describe everything, but I will certainly miss something.
I started off with a piece of perch. Smoking hot, great tartar sauce, excellent flavor, very flaky.

I get about halfway done with that and the next course comes. Crispy wings with buffalo sauce and also rib tips with their signature sauce. Not sure what signature sauce has in it, but I need more.

At this point, I already understand that I’m not going to be able to finish everything, so I have to start making good choices on what is reheatable and what I should finish immediately. About that time, a quarter rack of ribs smothered in comeback sauce appeared in front of me. It has kind of a hickory flavor. Not overwhelming, but just right.

This is also when I got the mac and cheese, sweet yams, and greens. All three of them were so good, that if I had to pick one, I would just buy the other two so I could have all three. The mac and cheese has that nice baked, almost smoky flavor. The yams had a nice amount of sweetness, which was great to kick down some of the heat from the sauce on the wings. The greens are absolutely the perfect color and texture. Not too many places around here to even order greens, but they are all over in the south.

Next thing I know, there’s a really good size pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw on it and toasted buns in front of me. This one had the Carolina style sauce, so it’s a little more vinegar based. It’s not sour, more of a thinner, slightly sweeter flavor.

To finish it all off, I was sent away with a really good sized chocolate chip peanut butter cookie. Those two things usually don’t mix, but it worked out nice.

Obviously, I had a huge pile of to go food, which took me multiple sittings to finish.

This restaurant is set up as a carryout business, but they do have the counter like my photos show, and one four-seater table.

If you go, tell Mike or Justin that I sent you. I’d like to see how many people actually do that.

The menu is very subject to change as they have just opened, but photos are posted below.

Our first time visiting the BrickStreet Grill, it was inviting and the staff was friendly. We ordered catfish, Mac and cheese, collard greens and cornbread. Everything we had was excellent! The Mac and cheese had a smoky flavor, very good, the collards are exactly what I wanted along with the catfish. Keep up the good work, we will be back!!

First time at BrickStreet today I had Catfish with a side of macaroni and yams/sweet potatoes. The catfish was flavored well but fried a little hard and the sides were awfully small for the amount of money for the “platter”. Would definitely try something else, but the sides could stand to be a bit larger for what they cost in my opinion.

Wowza. ..The best food in town..all around. The ribs were the best, yet. The greens and macaroni were “off the chain”. The fish was the best i’ ve had since my visit to Tennessee. Why waste your money on “pretty good” when you can get the best Soul food right from the —–Brick Street Grill.
