I was happy to finally find a sit-down coffee shop in the area! It was welcoming and cozy inside with a decent coffee selection along with ice cream and other sweets. The staff was friendly and personable. I’d return if I’m ever in the area again.

We stopped in here visiting from out of town. An older gentleman that appeared to be an owner encouraged my bi-racial son to take a picture in the chocolate ice cream outside, and a Caucasian boy to get in the vanilla ice cream spot. He then told my five year old to go down the alley for a photo with the black sasquatch and to be careful not to be taken out with the trash. He inquired to where we were staying and was clearly racist. Even the kids picked up on it. He followed us out of the establishment and around the back…we walked an alternate way back to our place. Not surprised for the area, but really disappointed. Who cares about the food quality after that? Racist establishment.

We haven’t been in for about three years and remembered the place was for sale. So the three of us ordered three drinks and we ordered separately. We had an old punch card and Im assuming the new owner had the new ones made. They gave us a new one and stamped the card and the second one of us went to order and gave the girl the card to stamp. The other girl (on her cell phone) came over and asked if it was the same card just stamped and she told us we couldn’t use the same card if we are together and we all had to have our own card. At that point I almost left but ordered my drink and before leaving we put the stamp card on the table by the door and we left.
There is a rejavanate around the corner we could have went to but we choose to come to your establishment this time as we were deciding on which one to go to before we stopped in.
I’ve been in a lot of espresso businesses and never had this happen before.
Anyway at least we won’t have to try to decide which espresso business we go to next time, thanks for that. John

Love this place. Cute and cozy. Family owned and very friendly. The most amazing home made cinnamon rolls ever! Espresso drinks, both hot and cold to order. Owner roasts her own beans, coffee tastes wonderful. Assortment of other drinks available. Tasty ice cream in many flavors, yummy fresh pastries. Old time soda fountain and old time candy available! Fast WiFi! Employees are very helpful and so nice! This place is so unique! A must stop in when you are in Spirit Lake!

Stopped for blended drinks. Ordered 2 frappes no whip. Tasted like instant coffee & wouldn’t stay blended. Probably used decaf, too. Ordered one almond, one vanilla. Could NOT tell the difference. Totally indifferent, bordering on rude barista. Ordered 1 ham and cheese croissant. Using Oscar Mayer would’ve been tastier. Two VERY thin slices of ham with what appeared to be (and tasted just as bad) white American cheese. Melted in microwave so croissant was literally MUSH. We were thinking flaky – you know, like croissants are SUPPOSED TO BE? Asked barista if she could cut croissant in half. She rudely replied “No! There’s a knife.” Pointing to cheap plastic knives next to straws. Friend was in restroom & NO ONE ELSE was in the cafe. (except another worthless employee on their phone) She SHOUTED “ALMOND FRAPPE” after a good 5 minutes. I walked up to get it. Then another 3-4 minutes and another she shouted “VANILLA FRAPPE”. Then another 3-4 minutes and yes, you guessed it “HAM AND CHEESE CROISSANT”. Still NO other customers. No noise in coffee shop to shout over. Very hard to cut croissant with plastic knife & barista just turned her back. We should have dumped the mush filled crap of a croissant back on the counter. And the frappes were literally the WORST coffee we’d ever had. To think we actually tipped this horrid barista and didn’t dump that croissant back on the counter. HORRIBLE.
