My wife and I have a system where a restaurant get three strikes and they are out. Brick and spoon received all three strikes today. We waited 30 to get seat when there was empty tables available. Giving it the benefit of the doubt and maybe they were just short-handed. We ordered our food and it took another 40 minutes to get our food. I ordered the beacon smash burger and my wife ordered a wrap. The smash burger wasn’t a smash burger. The patties came for SAMS frozen heat section and not fresh ground beef. The only good thing about my burger was it had a fresh egg on it. My wife’s wrap very little meat on it and a half a pound of spinach. I guess she should have ordered a salad. I see a lot of high reviews on this place and do not doubt they probably have some good food. I am highly disappointed in the food we received and they will receive three strikes from us. Definitely taking it off the return list.

On I10 heading home came across Brick &Spoon. The breakfast was great. Treena our waitress with only three days of experience was extremely professional and pleasant. She recommended Devil on the Bayou and we weren’t disappointed along with the Southerner with biscuit, sausage and pouched egg and sausage gravy. This was a great morning start for getting back on the road. Enjoy, I know I did.

Absolutely amazing! We are not locals. Here for a School Music Competition. Decided to check out Brick & Spoon! Started eating and realized we MUST do a review. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was relaxed but classy. Whether for brunch or lunch, Brick & Spoon will not disappoint — 5 star highly recommend!

The food was delicious, I could barely finish my order. Amber and the rest of the staff were awesome. I highly recommend the Brick & Spoon.

We stopped in for breakfast/brunch and had a mixed experience. The wait for a table was about 30 minutes, even though there were plenty of open tables inside. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt since it’s a busy beach town on Labor Day, and staffing may have been short due to the help moving away to college or something.
Once seated, our server was very friendly and attentive, which we appreciated. I ordered the summer special peach cobbler beignets—though not really “beignets,” they were delicious. Unfortunately, they didn’t arrive until after our meals were served, which was disappointing, since I ordered with our drinks for an appetizer since we had a toddler and baby with us.
I had the breakfast tacos. The flavor was great, but they were served cold after nearly an hour wait. I did like the idea of the fried wonton wrappers instead of tortillas, but they crumbled too easily, making them hard to eat. My daughter ordered the Killer Creole Omelet, which was hot and generously filled with shrimp, but her grits were so cold the cheese wouldn’t melt. My husband’s Bacon Cali Burger with jalapeños was the highlight—served at the right temperature, flavorful, and well-prepared. We suspect the other food sat while his finished cooking. He did have to return his coffee because the first cup appeared to come in a dirty coffee ☕️ cup – outside and inside.
Overall, the food had good flavors, and our server was excellent, but the long wait times, inconsistent food temperatures, and high prices really took away from the experience. We might give it another try, but we’d definitely think twice before coming back.

November 24, 2025 stopped by on my way back to GA. I asked for my egg scrambled well (not running egg) and pancake without powdered sugar, coffee and water. The pancake was not to my liking nor the eggs. Had to go ask for butter for the pancake. Never got a refill on water. The butter was solid and the pancake wasn’t warm enough to melt the butter. Service wasn’t good. Was seated as soon as we walked in about 10:30am.

I would not recommend this place if you are in a hurry. I went in by myself and had to wait 15 min to be seated, no one waiting ahead of me and a handful of tables being served once seated the waitress was prompt in asking g for my drink order after that down hill. When she brought me my coffee I ordered the sbc omlette and for some reason I decided to time it. Afte 25 min, no offer to refill my coffee during that time, I had to ask to get my breakfast to go. No apologies from staff just frustration at their cook. So per picture included after 30 min had food and had to go back to work. No offer to discount or any reparations. In fact person went to the restaurant next door after I was seated and finished their meal and was leaving before I even had my food. Would not reccommend unless you have the time to wait

I met a friend here for breakfast and it’s hands down one of the best breakfast/brunch spots I’ve ever been too! I had a vanilla iced coffee and ordered the Thick Chick. OMG! Probably one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had

This place was phenomenal for brunch. We started with bananas foster French toast which was amazing. Then we had (in order of favorite) Red Fish Benny, Breakfast Tacos, Crab cake Benny. The Red Fish Benny was OUTSTANDING. The breakfast tacos were also delicious. The crab cake Benny was okay. Overall we really enjoyed our brunch and would definitely return.
