We’ve lived in Congress Park for over 10 years, and that space has seen plenty of restaurants come and go. Briar Patch is by far the best restaurant that has ever been there.

The food is insanely delicious—thoughtfully curated and made entirely from scratch. Their chef, Amanda Singh, is Michelin-trained and was named “Brunch Baddie of Denver” by the Food Network, and it absolutely shows.

Personal must-haves: the espressotinis, the wings (now my husband’s favorite wings in Denver), and the chicken pot pie—the homemade puff pastry is completely out of this world. Don’t skip the fresh pastry of the day on the brunch menu either; so far, my favorite has been the raspberry almond pound cake.

Beyond the food, the entire staff clearly takes pride in what they do. They’re attentive, knowledgeable, and always happy to answer questions or offer recommendations.

What truly sets Briar Patch apart is their commitment to the Congress Park community. From supporting Teller Elementary from day one to creating a kids’ menu based on community input—and even offering children’s activities—it’s clear they genuinely care. We’re especially excited for cocktails and cookie decorating!

Briar Patch is definitely here to stay, and I encourage everyone to go give it a try. You won’t be sorry.

Such a cute spot with absolutely amazing service! Their beer—brewed in-house—is fantastic, and they also have a surprisingly great wine selection (coming from a wine snob). Michael was our bartender and he was really fun, friendly, and fast service.

But let’s talk about the wings… they were unbelievable. Perfectly crispy, super flavorful, and honestly some of the best I’ve had anywhere. I’m already planning my next trip back just for those.

And the value? Almost unbeatable. They even offer Happy Hour on Saturdays, which is rare, and for the two of us having two drinks each plus two shared apps (full wings and trio of sliders), we walked out at around $33 per person. For the quality you get, that’s incredible.

If you’re looking for a place that nails great food, great drinks, great service, and great prices—this is it. Highly, highly recommend.

Also, there’s parking, it’s kid friendly with open space and patio, and the noise level isn’t too loud. Go and say hey to Michael at the bar and hit their Saturday happy hour!!

Pleasantly surprised! During my 3 years of living in the area I’ve seen a couple of places in this spot, none of which have survived unfortunately. With that said, I was skeptical of Briar Patch opening but decided to give it a try. We had a wonderful experience! The food was tasty, service was great, and always enjoy a pup friendly patio. We had hangar steak and an onion burger, both of which were delicious and well priced overall! Would recommend supporting this place!

Great new addition to the Congress Park neighborhood! We went opening week and were super impressed with the staff and food. We really enjoyed the buffalo cauliflower wings and the salads. They brew their own beer at Briar Commons and have a great selection of cocktails, too. They also have a large outdoor patio which is lovely.

Just discovered this place and had a wonderful first experience! We started with a Sidecar and Bacon Fat Washed Old Fashioned. As picky cocktail people – both were well-balanced and delicious. The fried chicken sandwich and royale burger did not disappoint either. Fresh, hot, seasoned well, and cooked to perfection! Fries were fresh, hot, and crispy. Even the side salad and white wine vinaigrette dressing (which usually feels like an after thought at most places) were so good. The quality to price ratio is impressive and appreciated. The cooks and bartender definitely know what they’re doing! Keep up the good work – we’ll be back!

I’m giving 2 stars because the service was great but the food was very disappointing. Service was easily 4-5 stars, food was maybe 1 star (especially for the price) and atmosphere was a little off – like they can’t quite determine what they want their identity/market to be.

I’ve been looking forward to trying this place for a while because I heard good things about Briar Commons and this location is not far from me. My partner and I looked up the menu ahead of time to ensure they had vegetarian options, which they do … but what we had was not very good.

The mushroom risotto was a bit soupy and the rice was not fully cooked and the harvest bowl was a bit dry and bland. I really hate food waste and I generally don’t want to make wait staff’s lives harder, so I have never sent something back or complained about the food. For the first time in my life, I was very tempted to answer truthfully when asked, “how is everything?” Frankly, it was probably one of the worst vegetarian meals I’ve ever had.

As a positive, our appetizer (spinach artichoke dip) was as expected and the drinks we had (a couple of beers from their brewery) were pretty balanced. Also, our server was attentive and I think even the manager(?) was making the rounds to ask how everything was.

I think if we had just come here for some appetizers and beer, we probably would have had a better experience. Unfortunately, I just don’t think Briar Patch has very good vegetarian options and they are overpriced for what you get. I don’t know, maybe the meat options are better?

Just had my first visit to Briar Patch, and am excited to return with friends and family. Easily got a table for brunch on Saturday – though I am sure this will change soon given my experience. The staff were amazing, especially Kelli, who took such great care to bring water and ice for my pup as we were seated on their dog friendly patio (well, half of the patio-they seat patrons with dogs on one side which seems reasonable for consideration of fellow guests).

The menu was varied, with standards with their own twist. I went “safe” with the avocado toast, with two eggs fried to order (they offer as sunny eggs but I modified for OM – one egg was perfect, the other went a little OOM but still enjoyable). The twist was a drizzle of honey, which I had forgotten about until my first bite, and then was delightfully surprised at how well it worked!). Avocado was mashed, which I find so much easier to eat. I need to know where they are getting their tomatoes (I hope a farmer’s market) because the tomato was summer ripe and just perfection. On the side was a perfect portion of their “tots” and they were all perfectly crispy outer layer contrasted by pillow soft in the middle. The only thing I could have wanted more of from this dish were the microgreens. Still, ever forkful was one delicious bite after another. The sign their chef and cooks really know what they’re doing is that the dishes and drinks have the foundation of high quality ingredients and proper seasoning, this food is not bland! Just balanced, like their signature Thyme after Thyme cocktail which was the perfect spritzer for brunch. Even the muddle strawberries were ripe and juicy and the drink perfectly chilled with those fun little ice cubes. Another touch that shows they pay attention to details here.

I perused the dinner and happy hour menus to consider future dining options, and from the wide selection of mocktails, really nice array of wines, and of course, the Briar Patch craft beers from @briarcommonbrewery. Cannot wait to check out happy hour here!

I hope my fellow Congress Park neighbors and beyond will come out and droves to support this place because we so needed another “casually elevated”, high quality option to walk to and savor. Briar Patch has the potential to have staying power and now I need to go check out their sister operation, Briar Common Eatery & Brewery at Jefferson Commons!

Thanks again to Kelli – we appreciate you checking in on us at just the right moments and chatting through the menu options!

p.s. note – they can take tap to pay with your phone, but you have to go to the server station to check out

I have been here several times now, alone, and w my children, 7 and 9. The staff are always so friendly and warm and accommodating. Food is always good and priced well. I never feel it is over priced. I have had the steak, the salmon and burger and salad. And the wine selection is also very good , unusually good , just love it and it will be a regular spot

Great hidden neighborhood gem. Used to go to this location when it was other restaurants and love that it’s sorta hidden. Service was very attentive and friendly.
Burgers were excellent and the fries were amazing, so crispy! It’s small so a large gathering can get loud but not a big deal. Can’t wait to return and try some other entrees.
Menu is great for both meat eaters and vegetarians, lots of variety.
