Snowstorm Catering Catastrophe: Full Price for a Soggy Disaster
I am deeply disappointed and quite frankly, appalled by the experience I had with at this local favorite regarding a catering order.
When a severe snowstorm hit, making it impossible to hold my event (and dangerous for guests to travel), I immediately contacted the restaurant to cancel my catering order. I fully understood a cancellation fee might apply, but I was shocked that Brennans not only refused to reschedule the order but charged me the full price —despite the unavoidable circumstances and giving them notice as soon as possible.
I even asked for a store credit for when I was able to reschedule my party – and that was also a hard no.
To add insult to injury, when picked up my order, the quality was significantly below standard, considering it was a $60 salad. It was soggy and inedible.
Paying full price for food that I could not use for my event, provided in such poor quality, is completely unacceptable. This demonstrates a severe lack of customer consideration and flexibility, especially during circumstances beyond the customer’s control.
I strongly urge anyone considering using them for catering to be extremely cautious of their cancellation policy and to reconsider if they value quality and reasonable customer service.
Pros: None in this experience.

Never Again! I paid $19.00 dollars for a Tuna Sandwich on a Kaiser Roll with a small bag of Deep River Potato Chips! That is absolutely criminal! For that kind of money I could go to a Diner and get a full meal! $15.00 for a sandwich! You don’t even pay that much money in NY for a Sandwich!

The food has gone down in quality over the years and with inflation has really gotten absurd with prices. A porkroll egg and cheese, chicken sandwich and pasta salad cost $30. If it was delicious tasting I would pay but it’s mediocre at best! Pass by and go to a better breakfast/lunch spot.

Its always the same delicious flavors.
And a very peaceful place to eat and look at the road. Great service!

I just got the #22 and there is barely any turkey on it at the Oakhurst brennans. Last week I got the #22 at the Middletown Brennans and it had a good amount of turkey. Won’t be going to Oakhurst again.
