3.5 star. My review may get better if I go again. The price was not too bad. However the coleslaw was not very good. Maybe i’m just from the north. Or have been cooking too long. But I can show them how to make some good slaw. Was not creamy or very sweet and tangy.
And I don’t like how they put the sauce on the sandwiches when it was take out. InWould have preferred it in a side cup that way it didn’t get soggy by the time I got home. Otherwise , the staff were friendly and the place was clean. Parking lot was a bit cramped.

I am sadly disappointed by this place. It looks a lot better than it actually tasted. There was almost flavor and the famous bbq sauce didn’t taste like bbq sauce at all. Just super tangy and salty. It’s an amazing portion for the price, but it is just not worth it due to the taste and I hate to say that. The girl who took my order was so sweet as well and it was a nice environment inside. Maybe ill have to try again.

Coffee brisket rub was pretty good. Meat was flavorful and moist. Sausage was better than average. Ribs were perfect not too sweet tender enough, but not too tender jalapeño cream corn was yummy. jalapeño poppers were excellent, do not miss them. I can see why Texas Monthly recognized them. Can’t wait to go back.

This place had the best reviews in the city so we stopped in to see what it was about. This place is amazing. Extremely friendly and helpful staff, fantastic smoked meats, sides, and a killer banana pudding. Got a quarter pound of fatty brisket, quarter pound of pork ribs, and jalapeño creamed corn. The brisket was easily cut with a plastic fork, that tender. The creamed corn was one of my favorite bbq sides I’ve had at any restaurant. Review wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the banana pudding… it was almost a cream cheese consistency, killer flavor and taste. Truly 12/10 dessert.

This place lived up to the reviews! We got brisket, ribs, jalapeño poppers and beans. The brisket, ribs and poppers had great flavor! The beans weren’t my favorite but my husband liked them. We will be back!

The location is fantastic and the staff is unbelievably friendly. Unfortunately, the food, particularly the meat dishes, was surprisingly average. I was disappointed, especially considering the high expectations. The banana pudding, however, was a definite highlight and absolutely delicious.

Brendyn’s BBQ is a wonderful piece of Downtown Nacogdoches. The staff did an excellent job at helping us order, and we got a great sample of most of their BBQ elements. We got their leaner brisket, which was very well flavored and pulled apart easily. The sausage was another hit. I personally liked the ribs, which had a sweet aftertaste that paired nicely with their smoky flavor. The pulled pork went great especially mixed in the beans with a little bit of sauce. If you have kids, they’ll love the Mac and cheese.
All of the meats are great, with and without sauce to pair with them.
Next time we’ll be sure to get the banana pudding, everyone in the restaurant was talking about how good it was!

What a gem of a restaurant in a great Texas town. The brisket ranks right up there with some of the best I’ve had. I almost lost an eye from that moist, juicy chicken squirt, but it was amazingly delicious. It had a delicate balance of spice. The sides were all fabulous. But truthfully the best part of this great experience was the staff. Brendyn LOVES what he does and it runs off on the whole team. Will definitely be back.

The food is decent, however I have had better Texas BBQ – but if you are hungry for bbq this isn’t bad. People are friendly, attentive and helpful. It was a bit busy. It’s cafeteria style – order and pay at the counter and they make it there as you order.
Apparently it was voted the Best Texas BBQ Bites in 2018.
