Breakfast near the Beach! This 30 year family owned restaurant was delightful. Right at the entrance to the Dunedin Causeway, this was a nice change from the hustle of the larger places in the area. The menu had breakfast and lunch items. The prices were reasonable and the portions were generous. I was seated right away and I was brought a cup of coffee. My waitress Amber was friendly, polite and very helpful. She checked on me several times. The food was brought to my table promptly and it was fresh and piping hot. My favorite was the blueberry pancakes. What a great way to get in a morning walk and come there afterwards or enjoy a hearty breakfast and then walkm it off when you finish eating. I highly recommend that you try this place. Hopefully, you will like it so much that you will write your own great review. I love supporting local family places. They even allow the local artists to showcase their paintings for sale. 6 Stars.

From the minute we walked in the vibe was not welcoming. We saw an empty booth which just needed someone to clear it and wipe it down. We were told to sit somewhere else and when I said it’s OK we’ll wait. The waitress literally looked me in the eye and said “ will you just sit somewhere that doesn’t need to be cleaned?” in a tone that seemed as if I was bothering her. That toned continued throughout our entire interaction. Until she found out I’m a Veteran (for discount). Then it seemed like I was accepted.
The food was average.

We loved our brunch at Brenda’s today. We sat right at the counter and enjoyed our meals. Great staff, food, and prices are reasonable. Get the french toast and a side of home fries! Sausage links and eggs were also very good. Looking forward to visiting again and trying out some other items on the menu. Loved the community feeling of this cute diner. There appeared to be a lot of regulars and people knew each other by name. Great location on the beautiful Dunedin Causeway.

Really neat diner and is really fun in the mornings after a beach walk. Service is a little relaxed and may take some time but totally worth it. If you’re on vacation sit back and relax. Hang out with your partner and enjoy. The food was breakfast and it’s run well. We will be back next vacation!

Brenda’s On the Causeway is special not just because of the food, but because of Brenda herself. Brenda is the heart and soul of this place—warm, welcoming, and genuinely invested in every customer who walks through the door. She creates an atmosphere that feels more like a community than a restaurant, where you’re greeted with kindness and treated like a regular, even on your first visit. The food is consistently delicious, comforting, and generously portioned, but it’s Brenda’s personality, care, and attention that truly set this place apart. You can feel the pride she takes in what she does, and it shows in every detail. Brenda’s isn’t just somewhere you eat—it’s somewhere you’re happy to come back to again and again.

Probably one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had! For a small family owned business, I can’t say enough great things about them! Definitely recommend!

Family run am with great service and good food. The corned beef hash was on point, I prefer it crispy. All of what you need for breakfast and none of what you don’t.

The servers were nice and prompt and helpful. It was just me and my two young children so I had only ordered one platter and a single waffle, two hot chocolates and a coffee and ended up walking out with a $50 bill with tip and everything included. To me. That was a little on the expensive side and I would have not had any issues with that if the food was S Tier. The food (that we got) I would say was over was mostly average or just above average (I’m sure they have some other options that were probably much better). The only thing .. I wouldn’t even call it a complaint but issue… is that the French toast was overly eggy and the way it was cooked had like that scrambled egg burnt wet dog taste to it. So I was a little disappointed with the French toast and I would say that most everything else was what you would expect from a breakfasts joint, not overly impressed. But hit the spot. My son really enjoyed the Belgian waffle with chocolate chips .. said it tasted like a chocolate chip cookie.

On our way to honeymoon island state park. Came in for breakfast. Yes…It’s a dive. It seems to be a family owned and run business. Ms. Brenda is at the helm. Everything is made fresh so yes there is a wait. Home cooked food. Delicious coffee is awesome. Hot and not too strong ( I don’t like strong coffee). Come by and give it a try…
