This place is awesome. Never would I expect to find Puerto Rican food in this part of the country. But, if you’re traveling through these parts, you should definitely stop. The mofungo appetizer plate is something special. Everything we tried was really good and the service was beyond exceptional.

Walk in and greeted upon entrance. Waiter was nice and said his favorite was the beef stew so I ordered it. It did not disappoint, tasty gravy and tender meat, the rice was cooked to perfection. I like spicy so after a few bites I added their homemade hot sauce and it was great! The homemade sweet tea was great as well. Thank y’all!

We went in when they opened the doors for lunch. I asked if they had any vegetarian options and they took such care in making sure that I could try authentic food that met my restrictions.
The service was outstanding! You can tell the guy that was at the door was so passionate about introducing Puerto Rican food to others. The server, Chris, was so sweet and kind.
The place was packed by the time we left.

I travel approx 300 days a year and I always look for Puerto Rico authentic food. Brenda’s restaurant near Fort Polk is truly authentic. The Service and cleanliness is excellent but the food was delicious. I love the Puerto Rico custom food. Rich in flavor and addictive when is authentic. Their music bringing you the good salsa and merengue that identifies the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. No difference than any other state / country cuisine, this place is awesome and take advantage of their authentic food.

Brenda’s kitchen was beyond delicious. I was not disappointed and I will be going back. We are looking for a home cook meal after a long day at work. Go check them out. It was worth the money.

Tried their chicken empanadas this time and it was super bomb! loved every bit of it. We even ordered a take out of this item!
I ordered rice and beans only.
My husband ordered item #4 from the menu (I can’t remember the name of the dish) but it was with pork. He said it was really good! Although the plantains were quite dry. Meat & rice were both very flavourful!
Love Brenda’s Kitchen! Hidden gem in this tiny town!

When I walked in the atmosphere was set for me to enjoy the flavors or Puerto Rico. The host was warm and inviting and so was the other gentleman behind the bar. The food was awesome. For people who may look at it and thing it is bland because of the color or maybe the fish or mofongo looks bland Surprise honey it’s full of flavor and comfort vibes for your belly.

I’m very happy I found this place. I’ve been visiting Leesville at regular intervals for 2+ years, and yesterday was my first visit to Brenda’s. The setting is pleasant. The service is prompt, informative, & friendly. The food is lovingly prepared & delicious. I plan to return regularly!

The atmosphere is amazing! From the outside, seems like an ordinary cafe, but when you step inside it’s an entirely different world. I feel like I’m in a cute village! Our server was eager to explain the dishes and drinks and answer any questions we had. The food was quick, fresh, and delicious! I ended up getting the special for the day (stuffed pepper with a goat cheese sauce) and it was super good and nothing like I’ve ever had before! The restaurant was well taken care of and their bathrooms were very clean. We will be back!
