The atmosphere was OK. The fried food was good. The Seafood bag was horrible. I’ve had food there in the past and it was amazing. They asked what we wanted. We said a seafood bag with garlic butter mound. The only thing they did was steam. The Seafood melted some butter and put it in a bag. The lobster was too hard. My daughter did not finish her Seafood bag. We have had Seafood bags from all over the world and she always finishes it. She did not finish her food. She tried to leave it, but I told her I did not waste $40 for nothing. We will give it to the dogs. I am so disappointed. I am disgusted because I wanted to try the new seafood place in Madison but my friend promised me that they had the best seafood in Mississippi so I decided to give it a try because the last time I went to that establishment it was kicking crab up and now it is breaux bridge and it’s disgusting.

Breaux Bridge in Jackson Mississippi has THE BEST Cajun food we’ve had on this side (the east side) of the Mississippi [River]. The crab boil came steaming hot in a bag, and the salads and sides of gumbo, rice and beans were filled with flavor and hit the spot just right! The oysters [not pictured] were amazing as well. No sooner had we said “bon appétit” that the pleasureful culinary experience began. The servings were large- we definitely got our money’s worth and more. To top the quality off, the music wasn’t even from a streaming service; they had a live DJ!
We had been craving some Cajun food and we’re glad we took a chance at Breaux Bridge Jackson. KK was our server, and she was very attentive to our needs, friendly with a sense of humor, and she and all the staff made us feel welcome there, although we were over 2,000 miles from home.
We highly recommend Breaux Bridge to anyone in the area looking for Cajun food! This is definitely being added as a core memory for our brief time in Jackson, Mississippi!
p.s. We read the reviews, but realized a lot of the negative reviews had a tone of cultural ignorance and racism. We were determined to ignore the racist comments and see what it was like for ourselves since racism often blinds people’s judgment, which includes a deflated/bad judgment of food and service.
I’m SO relieved we detected the racism of a few posted reviews (and subsequent bad judgment from the reviewers) and bias between the lines, and felt compelled to provide a real review that portrayed our real lived experience… on a Friday night!

I came in today to eat with my aunt and was greeted by our waitress Don , she explained that they have a bit of a competition to get google reviews so this is my take on our experience. Our food came out very fast and was a great portion size , restaurant was clean with the exception of the restroom, our server was attentive and made sure we were comfortable overall great place and we would visit again. Thanks again Don for the service.

I’ve dined here on a prior visit to Jackson, me and we decided to visit again during this trip.
It was a nice experience! From the moment we walked in, the staff was friendly and attentive, especially our waitress.
We started off with the crab boil which had a nice flavor. The crab was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The crawfish fried rice was another highlight, with tender crawfish complementing the savory rice.
The calamari was a delightful surprise, offering a Cajun twist to this classic dish. The Cajun and buffalo wings were a real treat. The balance of heat and seasoning was on point, satisfying both my love for bold flavors and a touch of spice.
Lastly, the red beans and rice were the epitome of comfort food done right. Creamy, hearty, and packed with authentic Cajun flavors, it was the perfect side to accompany our meal.
Overall, Breaux Bridge Cajun Restaurant met my expectations with its delectable spread of Cajun delights.
Whether you’re a local or a visitor, this restaurant is for anyone craving an authentic taste of Louisiana.

This was by far the best experience yet in my years of visiting Jackson. Our server, Kayla, went above and beyond. Her tip wasn’t big enough to compensate for how enjoyable she made our visit. And on top of that, the food was impeccable. First visit, but definitely not the last.

I only gave them a 1 star cause I had too. They don’t deserve that. This was the worst seafood restaurant I’ve ever been too. The service was horrible and the food wasn’t good. My husband and I waited over 30 min for just our drink order and then another 30 to order our food. There were three tables that came in after us and all three got served before us. Just sad. Don’t eat here.
