Tara took excellent care of us! The service was outstanding and the food was 5 star. I had the pork chop, which was the best I have had . It was moist and flavorful. I asked how and they told me it was injected with butter. The sauce was excellent! The person I was with had the ribeye and it was excellent as well! This is the third time I have been to Breaks and it each time was excellent! I have had the cheese burger and it was Superb! A breakfast burrito which was as good as I get in Laredo and today the pork chop which was unbelievable!

What a cute place! An unexpected gem found in Hays, KS.
Many choices to make even the pickiest eaters happy. I was surprised by the quality of wagyu beef used for their chicken fried steak.
My chicken and waffles toped with Sriracha honey were amazing. Buttermilk waffle was nice and crisp and fluffy inside, full of flavor on its own.
Eggs Benedict were great, maybe 2 seconds too long on the eggs but otherwise yummy.
Very nice food presentation for all dishes.
I wish to try them for dinner in the future. The bar is well stocked with great choices in bourbon!
The amount of thought that went into this place is beyond comprehension: the design, tiles, bathroom, all the decor is top notch and something you would expect in metropolitan cities. Anytime you are on i70 heading through Hays, stop at Breaks. Its worth it!

The chicken fried steak was over cooked. The omelet had sausage instead of bacon initially. The server was friendly and helpful. The omelet was corrected and management comped the steak. The food was poor but the server (Mackenzie) was friendly and helpful.

We had reservations on valentines. 630. The table that was saved for us was still occupied from the previous reservation so we were sat not in the dinning room but moved to the ballroom which was used as overflow. This was fine as we were seated immediately even with a number of couples waiting to be seated. When I made the res Feb 2 we were told a glass of wine would be included with the couples meal we reserved. This seems to have changed. I wish everything would have been solidified prior to the res being offered. There were definitely people who had long waits around us as we did too. The total service time was 2hr 15 min. This was understandable as it was standing room only. The only upsetting thing was there were only 8 or 9 tables in the banquet hall but the waitress was hardly there. She never introduced her name and she did say she only was assigned the banquet hall so it leads the question where was she most of the time? Tables stayed dirty for a while after people left, drinks took a long time to come to us and we had to ask for them a few times. The dishes were also never bussed until the end. So our salad bowls and us became best friends over the hour they sat there. The food however was hot and fresh. It did not seem to be sitting and waiting in windows but we could tell the salads were pre made. The only disappointment with the food was they sent out one cheesecake sized normally for one person out for two people to share. My fiance didnt enjoy it so it wasnt an issue but I did spend 75 on 2 meals, I think it should be 2 normal sized desserts or one large dessert if meant to be shared. We did our best to be patient and understanding and I think our server was appreciative of that. I think this was the first time breaks did a valentines dinner like this, im sure there were lots of learning that happened and it’ll be better next year. We look forward to giving them the shot again nextime (as long as they offer it!)

Honestly I wish I could give more than five stars to this place! This was the very first time I have ever been to this restaurant and it was a wonderful experience!! The service was amazing, our waitress was so kind and and even recommended an amazing lobster appetizer (Lobster Cargot) which I highly recommend trying! The lobster cargot was the best appetizer I have ever had! Also the food was amazing! I will definitely be coming back soon! This has definitely become my favorite restaurant here Hays!

Stopped in to eat breakfast and was extremely surprised by the service and quality of food. We were seated immediately and waited less than 3 minutes for our waitress to bring water to us and take our order. I had the pancake meal and it was more than I was able to finish and the whole meal was fantastic. Our waitress returned to our table several times and refilled our coffee and water at least 4 or 5 times. The next time I am in Hays, I will definitely be stopping to eat.

Wow such a treat! Fine dining, delicious food, clean environment, friendly staff, and beautiful decor. Ordered the breakfast burrito and Mimi’s pancakes. The side of hashpuppies was so cute and delicious (looked like eggs in a nest). They also have an espresso machine!

Wow! We are traveling between Kansas City and Colorado Springs and of course stopped in Hays for the evening. I was tired of fast food and saw this Chinois salad on the menu. We went in early for dinner and had the whole place to ourselves.
My daughter got the kids Chicken crispers and my son got the kids burger. The quality of the food was phenomenal. Atmosphere was open, bright, and clean. This was possibly the nicest restaurant we ate at during our whole trip. We might stop in for breakfast tomorrow before we leave! Do not miss this excellent restaurant!

Jocelyn was our server today. She was superb! The food was AMAZING!! The portions are plentiful. We were the only ones dining this afternoon, but we never felt neglected. As today is Super Bowl Sunday, there’s plenty of stocking and getting ready for the rush.
The bathroom was immaculate. It even smelled good! The hand soap smells great too. Since my husband and I pass through this area about 2 times per week, he kept seeing the billboard on the i70. He kept saying he wants to try this place. I am SO happy we did! We will definitely be back! If you are on the fence about trying this place, get in your vehicle and try it! You will not be disappointed!!!!!
