Overall we definitely recommend and will be eating here again. Yesterday was our first meal at Breakin Bread. It is BYOB and they have indoor/ outdoor seating, plus they take reservations. The staff was very friendly and overall jubilant- you could tell they were excited and passionate about the food and restaurant. Very clean. Nice simple menu. Service was fast and efficient. Dinners came with a side of pasta. Dessert was good (a little on the expensive side. Only criticism was that my mom ordered the veal special and it was +$60 so I would definitely recommend asking for pricing on specials (our fault- not theirs! was just surprised when we got the bill). Great addition to the jersey shore and will definitely be back!

When our party arrived, we were greeted by the owner, Peter. He introduced us to our waitress, Toni, who served us water and opened our wine bottles. Waiting on the table for us were cheese, olives, and seasoned olive oil with bread. Everyone had different appetizers from clams to stuffed zucchini flowers. We each had a different main course. I had soft shell crabs, so good.

Have to say this is the best Italian food I have had I a long time. We decided to order a bunch of entrees and share so we could taste a bunch of the entrees. The gnocchi , Lasagna Roll and meatballs were amazing. Going back to the Jersey shore in a few weeks and will definitely return. The service was fantastic and I enjoyed talking to Pete the owner. If they have the escarole sausage and bean soup GET IT.

Hidden gem in Seaside! Superb service, everyone was attentive, friendly and inviting. The menu may appear small at first, but wait until you wear all the specials. We sat on the back patio which was beautiful, barely noticed you’re in the heart of Seaside. There are heaters for the cooler nights. Complementary charcuterie is provided when you’re seated. Prices reflect the quality of the food. The sausage meatball was incredible. It is BYO as well.

So I took My wife and baby son to breaking bread on the recommendation of a friend of ours , I was greeted in the most respectful, classy , old school way by Pete , what a gentleman, and soon after I was greeted by numerous wonderful employees that treated us like family , the atmosphere and restaurant was top notch , like an Italian restaurant on mulberry street in Manhattan, clean , beautiful, air conditioned, when the food came it was unbelievable ! Sauce and seafood like I never expected (and I grew up in an Italian pizzeria/restaurant) , every dish was beyond delicious, take my word for it , if you can get a table you will want to come back every time , And in closing I would like to thank the entire staff , and especially Pete the owner , thank you for giving me and my family a beautiful memory , I will see you again . The service really sucked. The girls were rude. Seriously, rolling of the eyes and throwing of silverware. The dishes and glasses were dirty (completely unacceptable dirty with food debris) and they were not apologetic for anything. The fish dishes ordered were overcooked. The pasta special was swimming in water, should have called it soup. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone…

Dining at Breaking Bread in Seaside Heights, NJ, was more than just an underwhelming experience; it was an affront to the standards of the food and hospitality industry. To say my experience was a disappointment would be a massive understatement. I had heard rumors of the shoddy service and sub-par food, but I underestimated the extent of the catastrophe this establishment truly is. A thorough critique is the least I can do to warn potential patrons.

I have a house in Lavallette that we enjoy in the summer and kept hearing about Breaking Bread. I never made it there last summer but finally got a chance to go a few weeks ago and last night was my 3rd time in 3 weeks and I also placed a big catering order from their deli in Toms River and I am dining there tonight for my Mom’s Birthday!

Went here with my wife for dinner. I had the Pork Chop with hot peppers, and she had the gnocchi. Both were very good. Note: Pork chop was smothered with the hot peppers, and THEY WERE HOT. So them accordingly.
