Our Realtor gave us a generous gift basket that included a gift certificate for Breaking Bread Eatery.
An Italian deli with a variety of items that change daily.
Salads, sandwiches and delicacies like rice balls and eggplant rollatini.
Enjoyed our sandwiches.
Like the murals too.
Parking on site.

This place really wowed us! When we first came inside we were impressed by the cozy atmosphere and large selection of Italian packaged goods available for purchase. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and immediately made us feel at home. They also moved quickly despite the busy Saturday crowd. There was a huge variety of specialty sandwiches and prepared foods to choose from. I got the OG sandwich; the fresh provolone was the highlight of this sandwich for me. My boyfriend got the Bensonhurst and was obsessed with the thick layer of fresh ricotta slathered on the bread. He also really enjoyed the eggplant rollatini, he said it was light, fresh, and flavorful. They also threw in a complimentary Cannoli St. Joseph, and OH MY GOD, this was seriously one of the best desserts we’ve ever tasted in our lives. It had the most divine, light and fluffy, lemon-y cannoli cream— definitely a must try. We cannot wait to go back and try more from this place!

incredible food and friendly staff, wish i could give it 6 stars!!! exactly what we needed after a beach day 🙂 both the cold and hot sandwiches hit the spot, VERY fresh ingredients and generous portions (we all had 1/2 our sandwiches left over and it was still great after being in the fridge overnight). definitely a must-visit & we will be back for more any time we’re in the area!!!

I tried this place for the first time through the Too Good To Go app and was pleasantly surprised. My bag included pasta fagioli, a spicy sausage pasta (not sure of the exact name), and a few different types of bread. Everything was absolutely delicious and had that perfect homemade feel. I’ll definitely be back! Alexis was incredibly friendly and welcoming as well.

Excellent staff. Knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating.
Food is delicious. Everything is fresh with a truly homemade touch of love. Nicole helps me out every holiday with a great selection that’s plentiful.
Sandwiches are more than a meal. Soups are flavorful. Desserts are too die for.

Can not speak on atmosphere or food, never been and have never had any of their food. The pictures of their place look quaint on their website and the food gets seemingly great reviews, it really seems like a place I would have liked. which makes it even more disappointing. The customer service needs some work.

Sick as a dog and craving comfort food, I googled places near me with French Dip sandwiches to go. This place came up. Place looked cute and had great reviews so I called and asked for a French Dip.

Lady on the phone made me feel dumb and small as ever when after asking for a French Dip. She did a full body laugh that went on for a few seconds until she says “do you mean a Hoboken but you don’t dip it.” “No there is an actual sandwich called a French dip.” “No we don’t have those.” “Okay thank you.” And I hung up.

Glad I didn’t attempt to order a BLT might have been up for a public caning for asking that instead of calling it a “Trenton” or whatever name they have for it oh and for not knowing it has turkey bacon not real bacon…

Nothing like a cup of embarrassment to go along with feeling miserably sick. Again can NOT speak on atmosphere or food taste, the place looks adorable online so that will have to be your call. Just be weary of the customer service.

Great sandwiches! In particular the sesame-seeded rolls and the eggplant were really exceptional.

I see other people complaining about the prices: keep in mind that these sandwiches are HUGE – yes they cost a little more than Jersey Mike’s but they are also a lot bigger and a whole lot better.

I found Breakin Bread while doing an internet search for Thanksgiving catering as I live in North Jersey and needed this for Toms River and I am so happy to have found them! The food was amazing, the service was above and beyond (especially Chris who was so friendly and helpful) and it was all around just great! Highly recommend!! (And I am happy to see they just published a Christmas menu… :-). Thank you to everyone at Breakin Bread for our wonderful Thanksgiving!

A small Italian deli. Carries a broad variety of prepared foods. Lots of breads, olives and antipastos. Some items looked very special like their eggplant towers, their fried flounder cutlets and their eggplant and long hot dish.
I took lots of pics.
They make sandwiches to order, but no dine-in.
It has a sister restaurant in Seaside.
Not cheap, but few good Italian delis are. 🙂
