Arrived around lunch time for a late Sunday brunch. Wait time was quoted around 35 minutes but we got our text and were seated closer to 20.

Our server, Juan, was very welcoming and attentive and brought us drinks right away. Coffee was strong and delicious.

For food we ordered the Oreo Cookie pancakes with a side of eggs and bacon, Shrimp and Ricotta Frittata, and a breakfast burrito with Jurassic Pork upgrade.

The Oreo Cookie pancakes were honestly the best thing we ordered. They were cooked perfectly, fluffy and flavorful with crunchy cookie topping on each layer.

To be completely honest, I was not a fan of the Shrimp and Ricotta Frittata. It was soggy which was slightly unpleasant to consume. It also needed a lot of seasoning. The shrimp was cooked well, but the overall flavor was lacking. I probably won’t order that again. The house potatoes that came with the frittata were perfect, lots of crispy potato skins, probably the best house potatoes I’ve had in a while.

Breakfast Burrito was good, but my husband said he wasn’t sure he’d pay to add Jurassic Pork next time. Overall, he wasn’t wowed by it.

Next time we come back we plan on exploring more of their menu and give some other dishes a try. Definitely recommend pancakes and house potatoes!

Breakfast Republic was such a pleasant surprise and easily one of my favorite spots in San Diego! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was a 10/10… warm, lively, and full of personality. It has that perfect mix of cozy and trendy that makes you want to sit back, relax, and stay a while. The decor is fun and creative, and the energy in the restaurant just feels good.

The service was also top-notch. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. They made us feel right at home, which is something I really value when dining out. It’s rare to find a place that delivers great food and great vibes so effortlessly.

Another thing I really appreciated about Breakfast Republic is that it felt like one of the few places in San Diego with some true diversity… both in the people and the atmosphere. It made the experience even more enjoyable and gave it a sense of community and inclusiveness that stood out.

Overall, it’s a must-visit breakfast spot. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the overall experience made me want to come back. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the food, while tasty, didn’t completely blow me away, but everything else absolutely did. A wonderful place to start your day!

Came here with my girlfriend on a Friday morning for breakfast around 10:00. Indoor seating was about 15 minutes for us, but we decided to sit on the patio which was open. We were given menus as we were seated and a short moment to look at the menu before we had our order taken. We ordered the Breakfast Jambalaya and the Yogurt Bowl. While we waited, we were given water and we asked for an umbrella to be setup for shade from the sun. They quickly setup the umbrella and got the sun out of our eyes. Our wait for the food was maybe 10 minutes. The food was good. The Breakfast Jambalaya was had little spice and some flavor. The Yogurt Bowl was better. The yogurt had a whipped texture (soft and light). The atmosphere was light noise on the patio. I would consider coming back to try more if in the area.

The menu had some uniquely named options like jurassic pork and cluck madame benedict. We were passed up by the hostess for two other couples and the service was slow. Prices were average.

I hated the food. All of it. Special ketchup, aioli mayo, the food was gross in my palate. I didn’t like any of it. I just want normal breakfast. What I loved was it was busy so people liked it AND I liked most that 3 Sheriffs were eating there. That’s awesome. I hated it all but I’m obviously 1% and I’m okay with that. I loved that everyone else loved it.

We were just here on Valentines day which was also a Saturday so it was busy, got here at 915 and there was a 20 min wait, however they got us seated in about 10-15. Service was great, friendly and fairly quick. Food was delicious. My husband got the Shrimp and Grits and wow that was excellent. There was no kids menu (my first complaint) so my girls just shared, brioche French toast with a side of bacon and eggs. My biggest gripe was my meal, steak and eggs. My steak was tough to eat, really hard to chew through and overall not that great. However, my eggs were cooked to perfection (over medium as requested), the bacon hash browns were delicious!

Great service, good atmosphere and delicious fresh food, you can’t ask for anything more.

The coffee was their house blend, orange juice was freshly squeezed. I ordered their Breakfast Sammie, it was delicious it had a sauce that was sweet and savory, the house potatoes were cooked perfectly crispy outside soft inside. My husband had their Breakfast Tostadas they were equally delicious, fresh, and seasoned well.

If you’re in the San Diego area check them out for some great breakfast.

It was a open air hustle and bustle, they looked to be a bit understaffed which kinda cuts my stars down as it took asking thrice and the twenty minutes to try and pay the bill.

When I went to pay the bill for my part of a six person party we were told they could only take three cards per table which we were not made aware of when they sat us down.

Tldr- decent food, sluggish/forgetful service and if you have a large party ask beforehand about how to split the bill
