We walked in and immediately thought WAFFLE HOUSE type ishh but at 11:30 am wasn’t many places to choose from to get breakfast so we proceeded to be seated and placed our order. Just moments went by and the power goes out but this crew pushed through not skipping a beat. The food was spectacular, exceeding Waffle House by far. I commend this crew for the extra care and dedication that they exhibited during this unfortunate circumstance that was in no way preventable by them. Keep being great!!!

Great food, great service, generous portions, reasonable prices, locally owned. I love supporting a small business, even more so when they’re just a fantastic place. Quesadilla was delicious and stuffed with onions, peppers, chicken and cheese. Home made tomatillo sauce delicious.. Biscuit was light and fluffy, and breakfast meals so well done! You will enjoy your visit!

I had the California Eggs Benedict. It came on an English muffin with avocado and tomato and some hollandaise sauce. A little tangy and probably not the best choice on the extensive menu. It came with a cup of grits and butter. Would definitely try omelets and bacon next time. And the sweets and ice cream next door looked great.

Now me and my family frequent this place often but today I bit into an uncooked burger! At first I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me but nope meat not even done! Just a little extra attention to detail and making sure food is cooked thoroughly would go a long way! Pray I don’t get sick from this!
02/02/2025 Back again! Hubby decided to try them again and yep another undone burger (after being requested it be well done twice while ordering)!! Maybe just breakfast should be the focus, because clearly something or someone is not working out! Very very disappointed!

Terrible parking. Great service. Looks a lot like a waffle house but way better service and food. The waitress was fabulous!

My first time going to a cafe/diner- Went for breakfast and didn’t expect such huge portions (saved half of it all for lunch ), it was fantastic and definitely makes me plan to come back. Great people, clean place and nice atmosphere with solid prices (I suggest the chocolate chip waffle and french toast, you’ll be full all day haha). Photos don’t do it justice!

Okay. This breakfast was GREAT. I love a good small diner. This place has a relaxed atmosphere. The people working here are great, the food is delicious. It is a must have when you are in the mood for a good neighborhood diner.
This place was so clean!
I know an odd thing to say about a “greasy spoon” but it goes a long way when I wash my hands in a clean restroom before eating.
Oh and the banana pudding tastes so close to what my granny made when I was growing up ❤️

Y’all!! Melissa at the Breakfast House was the best server I believe I’ve ever had. She was on top of her game. Greeting everyone personally that came in, so attentive and diligently gave a great dining experience. Myself, my daughter & my sister loved her!

I don’t review hardly ever,, but Melissa was so attentive, like it was her personal mission to make your dining the best possible; that I had to leave a few genuine words about her. (Im a local native that dines out several times a week & this woman knows her way around waiting tables)

Very very good breakfast. My French toast was perfectly seasoned with cinnamon and powdered sugar…and my friend’s bacon omlete was quite good too…not too salty at all. The staff, as seems per usual here in Wilmington, could be a little nicer.
