I usually go to the Breakaway on 501/15, but today I met a friend and we went to Carrboro Breakaway. We both got the FARRO AND ROAST VEGETABLE BOWL, and wow – it was so very good. (maybe next time I will ask for no dressing on the lettuce – not really needed) We both carried more than ½ home with us (it was a good size). The kale was really kale chips – which is exactly what I love. Lovely presentation too! I will be back.

Pretty good. If you’re into sport cycling, this place speaks to you. The quiche is awesome. Other foods can be really tasty. Coffee’s aight. And the young staff are always friendly.

Definitely feels overpriced for what comes out on the plate. A single pancake costs over $5 for cryin out loud, and they charge for coffee refills now. I’d just like to get more for the money.

I’ve also never had a fresh baked good here. The scones and muffins are pretty to look at, but they’re *always* super dry, like they came out the oven three days ago. It’s weird, because for years now every bakery I’ve been to sells not-fresh items as day olds at a mark down, and there are really great bakeries nearby setting high standards (eg Joe Van Gogh, Cup a Joe).

So, Breakaway is good from time to time, but you’re paying top dollar like it’s a real privilege.

This was cute spot. Probably the prettiest avocado toast I’ve ever had and very tasty. The smoothie was so good!

This place is amazing. Their attention to detail is spot on. The lattes are crafted with love. The portions are plentiful and always enough to bring home the extra. The desserts are delectable. This is a wonderful local business to support.

Saturday morning and we got a table immediately, the girl at the entrance was charming, the service in general was really nice! The vibe is great and beautiful. The food yummy! Everything I had I recommend it. First the basil latte with and almond peach pastry was good, the drip coffee is refilled , so you can grab the small size. The yogurt fruit and granola bowl (add coconut) too much honey for my taste but great! The Amy’s scramble one with toast and one with greens delicious!

Go elsewhere….Issues described in the other poor reviews are unchanged, waited over 30 min for the food, after waiting 25 min to be seated (but that’s understandable). So hungry I bought a carrot cake $8 for the smallest serving of cake I’ve ever been served. Then food came not hot, potatos so salty we couldn’t eat them,.

Great little cafe. Trendy. Popular. We had the granola with chia and the breakfast burrito bowl with a side of greens. We both indulged in the Mocha Diablo. The Mocha Diablo is insanely fabulous. Get it. You won’t regret it. Everything was great. Food came out fast. Faster than the coffee. Great breakfast spot. Highly recommend. Note, it does get crowded

Yum! Lovely and gorgeous space and outdoor seating. I really enjoyed my huevos rancheros, which came with super ripe avocados. I believe I got an iced cinnamon maple latte which was also lovely for a brunch.

The person working the register was also so lovely, patient, and helpful with our meal customizations.

The peanut butter banana mocha latte might be my favorite latte of all time! I loved the coffee & tea, and the service was fabulous. The food tasted very good, but the eggs were overcooked and the French toast was undercooked. The manager graciously remade my French toast and it was yummy. One big downside for me was that everything was a la carte, so it was a very expensive meal. I appreciated the variety of pastries and the seating was very comfortable.

My wife had tried the Chapel Hill location and enjoyed her experience so tried it with her here. It was underwhelming to say the least. Wife and I ordered the brioche egg sandwich (5/5 – brioche bun and egg was made well; finished), brioche french toast (3/5 – no brioche, just regular bread, good otherwise; finished), avocado toast (2/5 – more “greens” than actual avocado: more like guacamole spread than cut avocado; it was so minimal that my wife was able to scrape off the avocado with her fork and eat it with one small bite; did NOT finish remainder of greens and bread), side of potatoes (2/5 – overtly salty, did NOT finish), banana nut mocha (4/5 – intensely bitter coffee but the banana nut flavor masked it well, finished), maple latte (2/5 – bitter coffee that the maple was not able to complement; did NOT finish). Total experience (18/30). Friendly service and relaxed environment. Recommend for the vibes just not for the food.
