I had the breakfast Tex-Mex bowl. It was very good! The salsa is homemade with just a hint of jalapeño. Great combo of eggs, salsa, black beans, guacamole, cheese and home fries. My companion had the traditional Eggs Benedict. The coffee was fresh and the service was fast and friendly. We’ll definately go back.

I live 5 minutes away from Breakaway Bistro and have been planning to check it out for a while, and I am more than happy I did! I made an order for pick up, the rancho chicken wrap, and it was delicious and great quality! The service was great, and they even gave me an arnold palmer on the house (which I’ll make a part of my order now). So glad this place is nearby, will make it a regular go-to spot.

We were looking for a place to eat that we hadn’t tried and we came across this bistro. We were so impressed it was so good!! Prices are a bit steep but so worth it!! And the lemonade is so good, not too sweet it’s perfect!

My son and I love to try out different breakfast places. Every weekend we make the trek to some far flung diner or cafe, marking off a new location in search of the perfect breakfast. Often we have to wait for a table, or our food takes a long time (we bring games to keep ourselves entertained) and while we enjoy our time together, often the food or the service falls a little flat.
Not here. I’m this small little cafe tucked into the back of a forgotten shopping center less than ten minutes from our house we found Breakaway Bistro. The service was top notch, and our food was delicious. The pancakes were the perfect texture of soft, fluffy, and crispy, and the banana bread French toast was a delight. Big thick slices with fostered bananas and syrup…. So good
It wasn’t busy (quite disappointing , but kinda expected given the location) so we need to spread the word. This place is fantastic.
We have tried over 100 different breakfast places in Connecticut. It’s rare that we go to the same place twice, even more rare that we decide to write a review. But the Breakaway Bistro deserves both. We loved it and will be back.

This hidden gem was a treat. Upon walking in I was greeted by a nice young man at the counter (he looked like a young Brad Pitt!). I ordered the Shrimp Po Boy and my husband ordered the Clam Chowder. The food came out promptly and the atmosphere was vibrant. There are not many good spots in Avon but Breakaway Bistro was a breath of fresh air – I will be coming back!

Excellent lunch spot! We got the chicken salad sandwich and pastrami and fig sandwich and both were delicious. Came with fries which were also great. Lunch for 2 will cost you $40 but definitely recommend.

My husband and I ordered food on our way home from a funeral and asked to sit down when we arrived so we could have a drink and eat our lunch at the table. The waitress bee came very uncomfortable because the OWNER refuses to let someone eat a To Go meal at one of their tables in a most empty restaurant. It is shocking that a small business owner would raise their voice about how disrespectful we were being by asking to eat our lunch sitting down. The 16 dollar tomato sandwich has no flavor and the core of the flavorless tomato was not removed. Truly shocking.

My wife and I went in for lunch during breakfast hours and we were disappointed to find out they weren’t serving lunch yet but the chef make an exception and offered to cook lunch for us. The food was great and the customer service was A++. I would definitely recommend this place. It’s worth it.

Hidden, casual good bites.
As being out of towner this place was recomended by a friend. I had the fresh moz panini. The bread had the perfect crisp at each bite and the ingredients were very fresh.
Must try.
