Bread Winners Café & Bakery at NorthPark Mall was a solid stop for lunch while shopping.
I couldn’t ignore the massive cinnamon roll when I walked in, and it was even bigger than expected once I started eating it.
I also ordered a salad and a chicken sandwich, both of which were good and hit the spot. The service was friendly and quick, which is a plus when you’re in the middle of a mall trip.
Overall, it’s a convenient place to eat while you’re at NorthPark, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to choose this location over the McKinney Avenue spot.
Given how upscale the mall is, I expected the food quality to be just a bit better.

Had brunch here this past Sunday October 5th. About a 15 minute wait. We were seated and apparently they were backed up. I believe minimal staff. Anyways, we ordered our food and drinks came out. I asked for straws for our table. The Waitress, I didn’t get her name but returned to our table and just threw the straws down on the table and stormed away.
I’m not sure what happened because my back was to her but my son was very unpleased and said that was totally uncalled for. She did seem overwhelmed throughout our meal.
The food was good and did not take long. I would’ve liked to give a higher rating but this place does have a problem with their waitresses. So my review is fair and honest.

Bread Winners is a great place for food and atmosphere. They have great options for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. Their decor and ambiance has a lot of character and charm. The last time we went, our party had the Sonoma Chicken Sandwich (blackened) with BBQ chips, the California Rollup (grilled chicken wrap) with fries, and the Normandy French Toast. Everything was great! Our server, Cheri, was attentive, friendly, and personable. I look forward to returning to try more options.

Went in for an anniversary celebration with a reservation. Reservations are recommended as they are a busy restaurant. We were a party of 5, and had specified that we were all vegetarian. However none of those restrictions translated over and we had to explain all of our preferences again. The food itself was quite all right, nothing exceptional. The service left a lot to be desired. We had to constantly remind our table staff to bring items from our orders. A simple Coffee needed 4 reminders and a beer required 3. The chai latte arrived cold and we requested it to be reheated. It was clearly microwaved which spilt over the cup was served as it is with the spill stains. The least I’d expect is for it to be served in clean cups. We went in for an anniversary celebration and left quite disappointed with the service. I do wish they would improve their service as I will consider giving them another chance and I believe this to be an off-day.

I heard great things about the coffee, so we came straight here when we got to the mall around 11:30 on 3/18. The coffee was delicious, but so was the food. We got the brunch tots, the warm caramel pecan roll, pigs in a blanket, and the vegetarian Benedict. The pigs were some of the best I’ve ever had, and they paired nicely with the coarse mustard provided. The tots were crisp even under the yummy queso. And the pecan roll was heaven in bread form. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and had a good time!

Came here thinking that because it was at the NorthPark center it would be a nicer location but there were various issues which caused a less than acceptable experience:

– the booth seats were extremely uncomfortable in that you could feel the wooden planks through the cushion so you had to sit a certain way that would be the least uncomfortable, also the table was broken which seemed odd
– the main dishes requested were not bad but the side of fruit was old, the orange slices were bitter, the grapes were soft and old, the pineapple looked old and brown, not fresh fruit
– while we were still eating our food the server came out with the bill without us asking for it, we went around 10:30am and there was nobody else there so they were trying to get us to leave which was rude

Normally don’t leave reviews but this was a bad enough experience to leave one about it. We will not come back to this location again.

Nope. Won’t be going back to THIS location. Our monthly Cousin brunch didn’t start off well here. Our table server was great, but the bartender and barback were not. We ordered the frozen lemonade drinks and one of my cousins saw him use his fingertips to close one end of the straws before turning over and closing his fingertip over the other end and place it in our drinks! And when we brought to our server’s attention that we wanted new drinks made, the bartender tried to just pour the drinks into new glasses before she noticed I was watching her. She then tried to get another server to block my view before my other cousin went up there to watch her and saw her finish pouring them into new glasses. She then requested the manager and explained the situation. I was skeptical to eat at this point. I don’t like returning food or complaining, but this guy had put his fingers all over the straws that we were going to be drinking from. Our table server made sure to bring us wrapped straws with our nee drinks, which should have been done from the start. This kind of ruined the experience for us, but we decided to stay because our server was actually great.

I ordered the Bananas Foster waffle and couldn’t finish it. It had too much whipped cream and bananas on top. Made the waffle cold. The caramel glaze also had bananas in it and wasn’t warm at all. It was just too much, and I had to scrape it off, as you can see from the picture. The bacon was great though! Cooked to perfect crispness. *chef’s kiss* The chicken sausage was good too.

I’ve been to the Plano Breadwinners and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere there, but unfortunately, this location not so much.

I’ve had positive experiences at the Dallas and Plano venues, but the NorthPark location isn’t up to standard with the others. We did lunch on Thursday and should have walked away as there were very few tables occupied right at noon. We ordered the Farmhouse scrambled and the Veggie Benedict. They were served lukewarm and hardly eatable. Service was pedestrian, and that’s being generous. There are better options at NorthPark. Pass on this one.

The food was good. Some items were not served as expected so we got them exchanged like French toast.
Chicken Sandwich was pretty good. Pancakes were good as well.

Visited on January 2nd at 3pm. Food was nothing to gawk at, bland royale Burger not cooked medium like I asked, bland turkey croissant with 2 thin slivers of avacado. Kids turkey club was okay. Fries were not hot and fresh. And most importantly the Mexican hot chocolate was disgusting, who puts Cheyenne pepper as a topper on a milk drink? I told my waitress to remake the drink and take off the pepper and she said “This is how the mexican hot chocolate comes, so if you want me to take the Pepper off then you just want a hot chocolate.” Waitress had some lip on her too this is uncalled for and unprofessional, just say okay and take it back. I told her this is not what I was expecting when I ordered the Mexican hot chocolate, as this was not specified in the menu. I got the $4 hot chocolate a few minutes later and it was nasty too. I expected more for $4 then chocolate syrup and warm milk. I expected for her to remove the hot chocolate off my tab but it was still there.

FYI for that waitress and Bread winners Cafe, you do not make a drink “Mexican” by adding Cheyenne pepper as a topper. There was nothing Mexican about that hot chocolate, as a mexican myself born and raised in Mexico city how dare you call that abomination Mexican. Traditional Mexican hot chocolate is make with Chocolate Abuelita by Nestle and topped with ground cinnamon Only. If you want reassurance just ask any of the Mexican cooks in the kitchen. For my total tab to be at $93 I was highly disappointed.
