We are a small artisan bakery that makes naturally leavened (sourdough) breads and pastries using California-grown grain that is stone milled fresh at our bakery each day. Our bread is well-fermented using a natural sourdough culture which makes it easy to digest. We serve locally roasted espresso and drip coffee. We use organic milk and milk alternatives in our offerings.

This small bakery offers a limited selection of pastries and a broader assortment of breads. It is not intended to be a sit-down café or coffee shop, although limited seating is available. Take note that some of the photos posted by others depict seasonal offerings, such as pizza and dinner rolls.

SLO charm at its finest. First, it’s so nice to encounter a business that is conscious about the waste stream. They limit the single use products and use biodegradable when needed. We had the ham and cheese croissant, beautifully constructed and equally tasty. The coffee, one of the best in SLO, live the mugs and the attention to detail. You’ll notice the amazing jungle of photo plants, hanging from the ceiling, they must be eating the bread, they are amazing.

Bread is amazing! I have not eaten bread that good ever. Seeded loaf and sesame seed loaf are outstanding. I did not try any of the other baked goods. They did look good.
However, the one negative, and I see this a lot with numerous businesses, I didn’t think the guy behind the counter was overly friendly. He could use some sales tips for sure when serving clients at the counter. I never understand why businesses don’t focus on making the customer feel welcome. When you are selling to the public, you really need to have people who are friendly and greet customers. This guy 2 days ago was not the poster boy for making people feel good to be in there shop.
Overall, I would highly recommend what you are there for, anything that involves baked good. They definitely know what they are doing!

Our favorite local bakery here in SLO! The kindest staff with the homiest location tucked away a bit on Parker Street. We absolutely love their variety of fresh breads that we take home for sandwiches most weeks. Special shout out to their chai spiced morning bun, their pull apart monkey bread (back in the day), Thanksgiving and Holiday seasonal specials (incredible handmade pecan pies and soft dinner rolls!!), their smattering of rotating scones, and the local Cacti Coffee (drip/bags to go) they also carry in their store. Tons of other great items offered that I did not list as well!
We especially love visiting for their Pizza Wednesday’s over the Summer which feature live music and is a great scene for locals and their families! Tons of fun to hang at and equally amazing to take home for takeout as well. Sam and Matt and their entire team at Bread Bike have worked tirelessly to create a gem of a bakery here in SLO that we and many Slocals are so fortunate to have in our daily lives! Make sure to support them at both their shop on Parker and at the SLO county farmer’s markets they frequent as a vendor, you won’t regret it!

Best baked goods in the area! I love everything they have from their loaves to their pastries to the coffee. I also love how they mill the flour in house. And the design of the place is so charming! Highly recommend

We ran into Bike Bakery at SLO Farmers Market on Higuera Street and bought a loaf of the Greek Olive bread. We saved it to eat the next day on our train ride home and boy I wish we hadn’t.
If we knew how delicious it was going to taste, we would have bought several more items. And more loaves of bread! The bread was soft, with a nice chew. It could be pulled apart or sliced. We ate it with different kinds of cheeses and spread Brie on it. The bread was flavorful with many olives in it.
We want more!!!

Wow, the morning item I got was delicious! EARLY GIRL, I was told is made with Earl gray tea spices and sugar. Similar to cinnamon roll but no cinnamon or white glaze. They look to have basic coffee and chai tea with oatmilk.

Our family’s favorite sourdough when visiting SLO. You cannot go wrong with their pastries and other baked goods. Haven’t tried the coffee yet, but we did have a cinnamon roll with the coffee glaze instead of the cream cheese frosting and it’s a 10/10!
It has easy access from the 101, so even if you are just passing through, there is no reason you shouldn’t stop!

WOW … what a find! I found Bread and Bike at a local Farmer’s Market … now I’m hooked. You can taste the love and quality of ingredients in each and every sweet and/or savory bite. Their use of fresh whole milled flour makes all the difference and allows Bread and Bike to surpass any and all competition. My family and I had the pleasure of enjoying their lemon poppyseed scone, brownie, and cinnamon roll. I’m looking forward to visiting their store front and more markets so I can slowly but surely try everything they have to offer. Highly recommend Bread and Bike, you will not be disappointed
