What a great place with a great atmosphere! I had the brisket, jalapeno sausage, pork belly, Mac n cheese, and the trashcan potatoes. The brisket was great, had wonderful flavor and the perfect moistness. The jalapeno sausage had great flavor and the right amount of kick, not too spicy but it was for sure there. The pork belly was also moist and tasted spectacular! The meal was great and there was plenty of food so you can take some home and enjoy it again! My wife had the brisket baked potato which she said was wonderful. To me a good meat must stand on its own and not have to get dunked in sauce to have flavor, Brazos River Brisket House understands this and delivers great flavor. We will return and frequently!

Best stand alone brisket I’ve ever had.(I usually need bbq sauce) but this had so much flavor I didn’t put any on. Trash can potatoes were good but I liked the corn dish better. The ambiance of the place is also well worth the stop.

Hi !!!!

Today we are at Brazos River Brisket !!!
We are a family of four !!
We stop at this location because it looks awesome!!! The decorations and the out door sitting.
This is our first time eating at this restaurant.
The barbecue souse it was way different from other locations
The meat was Soso, not a lot of people.
The staff were friendly.
I think the price is a little high but that’s only my opinion.
Yes I know!! Some people are going to say you’re crazy that place is the best and the price is good!!!
Well that’s ok is only my experience at this restaurant.
I hope my experience helps you !!!

Where to go next ?
DonJJ out!!!

Great atmosphere, very friendly service and awesome food. Love the flavorful brisket, smoked pork belly and smoked turkey. Other favorites are the corn casserole and cabbage. Big portions – no complaints. Great place to sit outside under big oak trees along the Brazos River. They have live music sometimes on the weekends. Even though it says closed they are most definitely open – March 2022

I have worked in this area of TX for the past 4 yrs and never tried this place, now I’m kicking myself. Today was the 1st time. A very unique kind of setting. Kind of a buffet style place but they fix your plate. You can see the available sides at the counter when you order. I had the 2 meat plate with brisket and pork ribs, a choice of 2 sides, trash can potatoes and green beans, both were very good. I’m more of a pork eater and thought the ribs were very good along the brisket I had. Nothing wrong with the brisket but not what I usually order when eating BBQ. Had a bite of my wife’s cornbread casserole and it was very tasty also. The banana pudding was delightful and all I could do to eat it after eating that plate full of food. As a matter of fact neither me or the wife could eat all that was on our plate and we took a to go plate home with us. The 1 meat plate was $13 and the 2 meat was $16 and there was a 3 meat but I don’t remember the price, but you can Google the place and look at a menu. They also have a FB page. Plenty of parking kind of in an open field, no pavement. Lots of outdoor picnic tables and several tables inside in the AC. We were there on a Wed mid afternoon so it was not very busy at all, but I have been by there at times when it is very busy on the wknds. Check out the pics below.

The food was great! The brisket tender and smoked to perfetion..the smoked chicken was great and the ribs were fall off bone tender! Nothing was over seasoned. We were there at 3 pm..so a lot of the sides were gone. The Texas wrinkles were the bomb! We could have made a meal off them ! Highly recommend good Texas bbq!

We picked the perfect day to visit this restaurant. The environment is very relaxing. We enjoyed the Mac-n-cheese Chopped Brisket. Brisket was a tad bit dry but it won’t stop us from going back and trying the other stuff. Sometimes briskets have a bad day. I also like a bit more flavor on my ribs but that’s just my preference. We will definitely be back.

Service was quick and friendly. I asked for and got a sample of the potatoes, which were very good as was the jalapeño cabbage. The Mac and cheese was pretty standard, nothing special. Prices are reasonable.

Ribs leave something very much to be desired. Best described as tough, chewy and dry. What has happened to moist, juicy, fall off the bone ribs like Aunt Mary used to make. If anyone knows please tell me.

Amazing good! The portions are American sized. They need to change the name of the banana pudding cake to marry me cake! Friendly service and great atmosphere.

Late lunch on Friday, first time to try.
Working in the area, thought we’d give it a whirl.

Brisket: good bark, salty/peppery. Tad on the dry side but, it was a late lunch. Still good, still tender.
The sauce on the side was unique. Not overly sweet and tangy.
Potatoes were the red type, good but nothing distinctive by themselves.
The smoked cabbage was really good. Large pieces of bacon and thinly slice sausage.
Sweet tea was good and on point.

Definitely worthy of a weekend drive out from the city to eat again. Will hit it right at it’s peak hour and be judgey if that brisket is a little dry again.
