One of the best steaks I’ve ever had. The flavor was nothing less then on point and the tenderness of the filet I had, you could cut with a spoon. The hospitality of the staff was very helpful when asking about the menu items which were very different but tasteful. What sets this restaurant apart is their attention to detail once walking in and how they welcome you. Very inviting employees and owner. Even when the bar is full, awaiting a table is a fun experience, as the bartender will find a drink that’s fitting just for you, makes this experience feel like you have known this place for quite some time. When you truly enjoy eating out, but you can enjoy the experience by bringing it to the table within the walls in downtown Bardstown Kentucky, also known as the bourbon trail, while being fully immersed in what’s going on around you, I will gladly hand my money to a very knowledgeable and outgoing staff of brazen bull. Great experience and hasn’t disappointed yet. Try the filet and the bakers sampler!

My husband and I stopped in for just a simple dinner (not doing our research) once we sat down we noticed the steaks were $50 each. This may not be a huge deal however we just wanted something simple. So I ordered the potato volcano with wagyu chili and my husband got a burger. It took a very long time for it to come which is fine, they were fully busy. Once we got the food it was, pretty. However the plating wasn’t consistent and a little confusing. What I ordered came in a huge ceramic bowl, the chili was all beans and honestly just tasted like hormel chili on top of a baked potato. My husbands burger was on a brioche bun which was about twice the amount of bun vs meat. This was presented on a tiny plastic plate with little to no room for anything else, not even the fries that came on the side. The restaurant itself is confusing. It’s a steak house that has wine everywhere, even on the tables. It’s very new aged looking but just doesn’t give the new age feel. It’s almost like two different people thought up designs, couldn’t agree on an in between so they just mashed them together. The waitress was amazingly sweet and so were the other few people that interacted with us.

It was a soft opening when we went so I won’t hold that against them too much. First, let me start by saying you have to try the deep fried deviled eggs, amazing. They do have a good selection of bourbon, along with a few different beers (4 I think to be exact). The bartender was MIA and it took a long while to get our drinks, but, I think she might have been running errands, again….soft opening. My wife got the filet mignon, slightly undercooked, but nonetheless a prime cut of beef, they were out of sirloin (soft opening). I got a dish that I can’t pronounce with flat noodles, Chinese and Italian meet, Hungarian dish inspired I was told, it was awesome.
All in all, the service has some room for improvement, and I’m sure they’ll get better with time, the food was awesome, price point is such of a nice steak house ($39 steaks and up). I’d go back…give it a shot.
Oh and they have steak burgers, I’d like to try but they were out, which was a bit of a curveball for a steakhouse of such.

What to say? The chef had walked out and the kitchen was closed. The owner deserted the staff, but the three kids working handled it like champions. Loriel, Autumn, and Micah were holding the place together and we had a great time anyway!

I can’t recommend a place when the atmosphere is toxic. The manager chose to manage her staff in front of customers. She has a high-intense emotional style of managing, to put it nicely. I felt bad for the staff who. All seemed nice and did their jobs.

Visiting Bardstown on a rainy day. We stopped at Brazen Bull to have some drinks, we were not hungry so we can’t speak on the food. This rating was based on drinks and customer service. Our bartender was very friendly and personable. We ended up getting the beer flights from Country Boy Brewing. Great stuff. Our favorites were Shotgun Wedding, Cherry Bomb, Hazelnut Stout and Cliff Jumper. Made it a nice touch to enjoy a brewery we won’t be able to visit during our stay in Bardstown.

Everything was so good. The fried chicken tenders were cooked to perfection, not dry still so moist. We meet the owner Curtis, who was the chef and his wife, who was our waitress, such friendly people. The burger my husband said was so good. Great selection of alcohol and beer. Glad we made the choice to stop in for lunch

We had our doubts when we walked in and sat at the bar. It took a few minutes to get waited on but than we were severed our drinks. Not bad, simple bourbon and Coke but than we were told that we should at least try the fried deviled eggs. We took the suggestion and not sorry for the experience. I would have never tried this just looking at the menu but they were awesome. The owner came out and suggested we try the bread. It too was very good. Before it was over we tried just about everything on the menu including the steak medallions. The were tender and delicious. This may become one of my more favorite restaurants in Bardstown. We will definitely be back to share the experience with more of our friends and family. Thank you Ron for the experience. Until next time

So disappointed with the entire experience. Forgot our appetizer we got it after our meal. They comped it. Our steaks were not prepared as ordered. My potato was not hot at all and you could not eat the skin it was very tough. Husbands glass had a big crack in it. The hostess was very friendly and gracious and I think was just stretched too thin. Overall in my top 10 worst meals and dining experiences. Restroom was dirty and right behind our table. it was pretty cold so I kept my coat on. It was not the anniversary dinner I was hoping for. So bummed.

50 Dollar steak was decent. Their house salad was one of the best I’ve had. The mac-n-king was just a no. The bourbon selection was minimal. The place does not feel like good steakhouse. Looks like a diner. The staff were friendly, but running. Really needed steak sauce and there was none. And dinner rolls would have been nice. A good steak for sure, just the place falls short for the price.
