I ordered the shrimp scampi, my wife chose the lasagna, and my brother went with the grilled salmon salad. My wife described the lasagna as delicious—especially the Bolognese sauce, which was rich and flavorful with a clear presence of fresh basil. The béchamel sauce was perfectly done: creamy, smooth, and well-balanced.
My brother enjoyed his salad; the grilled salmon was cooked medium-rare. He mentioned he would have preferred it well-done if asked, but still found it flavorful.
As for my shrimp scampi—it was fresh and nicely prepared. The diced tomatoes were cooked just right: soft but not soggy, and not overly crisp. The seasoning was subtle and well-judged. Personally, I would’ve liked a touch more garlic, but that’s just my taste.
For dessert, we tried the chocolate pudim, which had a very good flavor—rich and satisfying. However, it was served a bit colder than expected, which slightly muted the taste.
Service was excellent: prompt, courteous, and sincere. Being served by Mr. Mark was a real pleasure—he was attentive and professional throughout.
All in all, a great dining experience. I definitely recommend this restaurant and look forward to visiting again.
My daughter and I chose to celebrate Valentine’s day with a late lunch.
Once seated, our waiter arrived right away and took our drink order. We both got the peach bellini. (The first 2 times in the past 4 years, one of your locations restaurant has made this drink perfect. We have had to return it probably 4 to 5 times as the bartenders don’t know how to make it). We would give a “0” for drinks/cocktails.
Our waiter went and had it remade, it was worse. At that point, we should have just told our waiter to take it back. That was by far, the worst one we have ever received. On top of that, the price has gone up to $13.00 each. I would not have paid more than $3.00, as the drink was filled with crushed ice, barely blended as it should be. Hardly any prosecco or peach schnapps. What a disappointment!
Our waiter was attentive and returned promptly with our food items. Sometimes too fast as we barely touched our salad when we were served our main course.
We had the lobster and shrimp fettuccine which was delicious.
For dessert, we had a caramel mascarpone cheesecake. Very good!
From the moment we walked in, the restaurant was spotless and very well maintained.
The prices were great for the quality and portions, but what truly made our visit outstanding was our waitress, Kristen. She was an absolute star. Kristen handled our family of five with such patience, warmth, and genuine friendliness. She even gave our kids some pizza dough to play with while we waited for our food, which kept them entertained and happy. She talked to the kids, helped them decide what they wanted, and never made us feel rushed. Her kindness made the entire meal smooth and enjoyable — something every parent truly appreciates.
The food came out quickly, everything tasted fresh and delicious, and the kids were happy from beginning to end — a rare win! If you’re in Pittsburgh and want a clean, family-friendly restaurant with great prices and exceptional service, Bravo Italian Kitchen is a must. And if you’re fortunate enough to have Kristen as your waitress, you’re guaranteed an amazing experience. Highly recommended!
It’s been a few years since we dined at a Bravo. The main reason we stopped was the $25 discount I had on an app.
First of all this isn’t a fine dining Italian restaurant but their prices said it was. My wife ordered the Italian classic Chicken Marsala. I don’t what they put on it but it looked and tasted like gravy and not Marsala sauce. Her chicken was dry and overcooked. Her side were bland garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus.
I ordered the Romano Crusted Chicken Salad. The chicken was at most as thick as a quarter. Grossly overcooked and dry. I couldn’t cut it with my knife it would tear apart. The salad of my meal was ok not great. A little too wet for my liking.
Our fried ravioli appetizer was good. Cooked great and nice amount of cheese inside.
The service was horrible. We had to ask another server to tell our server we needed more coffee and water. And no excuses as it was not busy. It seemed like they had plenty of staff.
Maybe we caught them on an off day. But good luck if you dine here.
