This is one of those places that makes you say, I wish it was closer to home! Fun, unassuming, a ton of vegan (and gluten-free) options including desserts (yay!) and super nice people. And alcohol. If you’re going to Hunter Mountain or the area, pay them a visit!
Huge portions, too.

Incredible burgers and brews at this spot! We brought a group of 8 and the hosts were so accommodating and the food was incredible. We couldn’t stop talking about how delicious everything was 🙂 highly recommend it for anyone coming in for a quick bite after driving up for a ski trip! Only bummer is we didn’t come on a Saturday, aka Seafood boil night!

The burgers were AMAZING but I cannot stress how amazing the staff is! My friends and I were a party of 9 and came in a little less than an hour before closing. All the other restaurants in the area were either closed or an hour wait for seating. Not only was the staff kind enough to take our lengthy order but they were so reassuring in not rushing us out or making us take the food to go. Trust me we felt SO bad being such a large group coming in and having a large order but we were told multiple times not to rush and I cannot express how much we appreciated the kindness! Even at the end of the night the kind girl who worked there offered us hot chocolate which was probably the best hot chocolate we ever had! The three women who worked there at the end of the night were truly so nice and made us feel welcomed. Again thank you guys so much for being so kind and welcoming- everything was delicious and we will 110% be back!

Starts with the one liner, amazing food.

Well parking is a concern and confusing. We can’t park back of the restaurant and adjacent space got limited space as USPS there so be ready to find a spot near by.l during busy days.

Limited space with more customers, hence take away is best. We ordered platters and pita. Felt a little dry with platter, sauce on top was little less and the rice too else platter was amazing. Same goes with falafel platter, little dry. Pita was perfect, thought initially will be a pita pocket instead of wrap.

Overall it was good. Finally the ice cream was good.

Brave the Flames is definitely up there on the list of my favorite restaurants in town. My mom and I ordered the cowboy burger with a basket of fries and it was absolutely delicious. The burger was juicy with lots of flavor; I made sure to savor every bite. The fries were great, too. The atmosphere of the restaurant is comfortable and welcoming, as well as the staff. I’d recommend stopping here.

My friends and I took a quick snowboard trip to Hunter Mountain and asked our hotel manager where to find a great burger in town. She recommended Brave the Flames in Tannersville, NY—and they absolutely did not disappoint.
We happened to be there while the owner, Chris, was in, and he was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I have dietary restrictions, and both Chris and our server, Alivia, went above and beyond to help accommodate my meal, which I truly appreciated.
I ordered the Cowboy Burger, and “amazing” honestly feels like an understatement. My friends all tried different burgers from the menu, and every single one of us left completely satisfied. Great food, awesome vibes, and a cool little bar that’s perfect for hanging out after a day on the mountain.
If you’re looking for a local spot with incredible burgers and a laid-back atmosphere, definitely check them out—you won’t be disappointed.

My son and I stopped in after seeing the sign for the “Saturday Seafood Boil”. The place was packed, and for good reason! The food was beyond delicious. The staff was quick, efficient, friendly and helpful. After asking how they make the corn in the boil for my son, Chis, the chef and owner, came out to talk with us. After he took the time to fully explain how to re-create the dish, there is no doubt in my mind that we will return here many many times to come!

as a 23 year old man , quite honestly i don’t think I’ve ever had a better burger in my entire life. cooked to perfection , smashed yet still insanely juicy, flavors coming from every direction. im from New Jersey about 2 hours away, and would gladly make the trip back here just for the burger. mac and cheese is nothing to skip over as well, the utmost comforting. staff is very friendly and personable. love this place.
