Really enjoyed walking into this nautical bar. It was clean and quiet with star wars playing above the bar. I enjoyed the crab dip which was plenty to share with my bf.

Enjoyed dinner before a show at the nearby Altria theater. It’s small inside but we enjoyed the atmosphere of after-work locals hanging out around the bar. Only a few tables but we were able to snag one and the bartender also waited the tables; he was busy! He took good care of us and we had some really delicious food.

Ohh my!! ohh my!! Mom had the Mississippi pot roast sandwich and I had the fried shrimp grilled pimento cheese sandwich and both of them were absolutely amazing and prices were very reasonable. You will not leave feeling hungry I promise. I also promise I will be back to try other items off the menu that sparked my interest. For this to be a bar I would say hands down the best “bar and grill” food I have ever had in My ENTIRE life. Great job you guys you will see me again!

Food was quite nice, reasonably priced and with prompt polite service. Good selection of menu items and solid selection for beers. Nice location downtown. Was smaller than I anticipated which gave it the feel of a “quality dive” which is my favorite type place. Super cool wall art and decorations. The kitchen obviously has a good grip on what they make and put out, I was impressed to say the least. Will definitely be back, highly recommend.

We went to brave Captain another night because someone told us they had really good crab dip. They were not incorrect. The crab dip was scrumptious. My partner had a LGBT sandwich which was lobster and bacon and tomato. My oyster Poboy had a little bit too much bread, but I guess that’s a poor boy. We really like the food, but it is a bit of a dive bar. They have excellent music though not many seats.

Awesome little nautical themed dive with a variety of unique seafood items. We opted for the vegan biscuits, corn dip, and crab melt. Everything was outstanding! Friendly staff and great prices. We’ll be back for sure!

I’ve gone here twice now and the food has been amazing each time. I can’t eat gluten, and they were easily able to make sure my food was gluten free. So far, I can recommend the chicken bacon ranch drip, the old bay fries, the chicken grinder, and the fire roasted veggie soup. My fiancée and friends really loved their food too, especially the cheese biscuits.

One note, there is a large step to get in, and so I’m not sure how wheelchair-accessible they are, but you can talk to the staff to find out for sure.

I gotta say, I didn’t have the highest of expectations walking into a tiny bar like this one, but the atmosphere was great. The bartender/waiter was super chill and the food was amazing. Recommending the buffalo chicken wrap and the flounder sandwich. Definitely worth going back to! If only I actually wasn’t just visiting this town for the day

I really liked everything about this place in concept, and the service was decent. The food missed the mark, in my opinion. Lobster bisque was tasty but the lobster chunks on top were over cooked, and it lacked a richness from a good roux, so ended up a bit plain. Pastrami was way over cooked and tough in my Sailor Sandwich. I was warned they were big dishes, hence the price, but I didn’t feel the need to try and finish everything. Overall decent but don’t need to revisit.

The oysters I had were the best oysters I have ever had. My husband had blackened tuna and it was delicious (though he was having a hard time deciding whether mine was better.) to be honest it is a little hip and music is slightly on the moderate level so it was great for us for two people- we leaned in to talk- but it was a lively atmosphere. I know this place is new. Welcome Brave Captain. You are so worth the trip from Short Pump. We will be back. Also, there is a table that can seat maybe 8 in the front window with only three other tables- just so you know. But again. So amazing.
