An amazing art deco restaurant tucked away a couple of minutes walk from Picaddily Circus. It used to be a dance hall in the 1940s, and the original features have been tastefully retained. There is also a bar and a cabaret room there for later. Fab French style food that isn’t priced as high as you would expect, too.

The zedel was ok, we expected better so ultimately a let down. We rarely have an overnight in London and pf course your spoilt for choice in london but we booked the Zedel. The good bits: the decor and architecture. It’s truly is a beautiful venue. The average bit was the food. It was ok, but for the price of 6 escargot id expect them to be more memorable. My partner said the soufflé was bland. The chips with my beef reminded me of a fast food joint with a big M!. The bad bit: our waiter wasnt interested in us. Never asked us if we wanted anything, didn’t ask if the meal was OK, didn’t offer more wine. He Brought the plates, took the plates, brought the bill with a 15% service charge. My partner didn’t want to pay it. I didn’t want to make a fuss and wanted the wider staff to have their share. Finally there is live music, but we were sat so far away we couldn’t hear it which was disappointing as we had booked sometime in advance. Overall, ok, not the special night we were hoping for.

Nice dining area, and live music playing whilst you eat.
Fresh bread and great service throughout the visit.
The menu is good, with lots of choice of interesting dishes to choose from. All dishes that our group had were well prepared and ingredients were top quality. Presentation was superb, and we all ate our whole dishes so no complaints there.
Prices were approximately £70 per head including drinks, starters, mains and deserts and bread.
Would visit again.

It’s not that bad, depending what you order. The set menu with the steak was decent, especially for the price in London. But some of the other items from the menu did not suit the taste of our family. They were nice enough to give me a free macaron for my birthday 🙂 very sweet of them ☺️☺️
Atmosphere was stunning.

I’ve eaten at a lot of places but few genuinely make me excited to do a review. I was a walk in and was quickly given a seat by the bar. The bar staff and incredible and made my impromptu solo dinner something special. They are some of the friendliest around and made me feel comfortable dining at the bar.
If you’ve never been to Brasserie Zedel before, know it is set in a beautiful dining room but during December they make an extra effort for Christmas.
The food is brilliant and brings you to the Brasseries of Paris. I’d definitely recommend the oysters and steak tartare but from those nearby I could see the steak hache is also popular.
The staff made my dinner special by giving me a macaron and a dessert wine to finish which we’re both fantastic.
I can’t recommend this place enough if you’re looking for a meal near the West end. Will definitely say it’s worth a visit

I went today for a dinner to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday and we had the most amazing experience! First time at Zedel Brasserie and omg, what a truly incredible place. The food was delicious and tasty! But the biggest star here its the Service- from start to end the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive! A massive thank you to Tanvir, which had an amazing hospitality and made our night even more special! Thank you everyone at Zedel and we are definitely coming back!

LOVE THIS PLACE. fabulous decor. I always have the price fix option. 3 course meal with glass of wine for 30 quid. brilliant price for London. the food is lovely and the wine is good. you are limited to one choice of starter and sweet and 2 options for the main so might not suit everyone

Went there eventually for my birthday. I have read Tim Hayward’s review in 2012 and was always on the back of my mind to try it out. A Huge place of art decor french design remincient of the roaring 1920. Very busy and buzzy. Service was efficient and the food came quickly. Both of us had the french onion soup which was very tasty and umani. My wife had the Duck which was done pink and perfect. The accompanying sauce was very good. I had the venison bourguignon; meat was tender and the sauce was rich and tasty. Overalll solid French classics done well for reasonable price for London. Only caveat is the food came lukewarm rather then hotter as we usually would expected. Tim Haywood’s review was correct. Great experience.

We had an enjoyable lunch here. There is lots of choice. We couldn’t decide so opted for a mix of the set menu (£17 for two courses) and other items. Choices were egg mayonnaise and steak haché plus sides and for dessert- tarte tatin. We finished at the bar as our table slot was 1 hr 45 mins and we ran out of time. The team offered to move us to the bar for our dessert and coffee. We were not pressured to move on and stayed for another hour or so.
All the staff were friendly and Dinah was very attentive.
We booked a few days prior and it was extremely busy on Saturday afternoon. They had a jazz band playing. The main dining room is gorgeous.
It is in a tourist hotspot but it feels calm in the main room.
The set menus offer excellent value. Service charge is 15%.
The only annoyance was the enormous queue for the ladies loo. A perennial problem.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed spending a lovely afternoon at Zedel. Recommended.

I can’t say anything about the staff other than that they were very welcoming and nice, the Turkish guy who attended our table was realky nice and so the other staff member with him.
The trip from the street to the lower hall was really nice, that ended with a vipe as if we are in the ship Titanic dining with all those people listening to fine music.
I hope they will make portions
a little bigger since you don’t get enough of the delicious food, next time I will order two plates of everything I had,
