French-influenced fare like frogs’ legs served at relaxed, refined spot with frequent jazz shows.

My wife and I went there for lunch and ordered the scallops, chicken and andouille sausage risotto, and mixed green salad. We enjoyed everything. The salad dressing was light and perfectly seasoned. The scallops were nicely seared and not too salty. The risotto was a good size and very tasty. For dessert, I ordered an espresso and brownie sundae. The espresso seemed like a double it was so big, and the brownie was rich and chocolatey, topped with anise ice cream.
The service was very professional and friendly, but it took a while to get our food.
The decor is unique and fun to look at.

Boy I was so excited to come to the reopened Brasserie, and that my first time would be on Bastille Day, with my bilingual daughter and a companion who was studying French in college.
I had some scratch in my pocket, and so we came for happy hour and ordered almost one of everything on the menu.
If I compare the “new” Brasserie to what it was, it’s no comparison. The reincarnation completely sucks in comparison.
So let’s be fair and look at it fresh.
Well, all of us were disappointed. What we were hoping for was some sense of “soul”, and there was absolutely none whatsoever.
Maybe it’s because we ordered one of everything on the happy hour menu, but two items had to be sent back to the kitchen, and they did get it right, eventually, after a long wait.
Excellent were the cheese plate and the French Onion soup, everything else was an “ok” at best.
Service was s-l-o-w and inattentive, and well, we dropped enough for dinner for four at most places in Portland on happy hour small plates for three. We won’t be returning.

Took my father and stepmother here after two other ideas fell through and were already booked. We were all pleasantly surprised by the excellent service and nicely upgraded seating and decor. A house magician came to our table with some magic tricks and jokes, very entertaining! Bobby Torres performed on some tall hand drums accompanied by a stellar piano player and vocalist, and the food was exquisite and moderately portioned. Great experience!

First time to the restaurant. We had happy hour. Prices and selection was great. House wine was good. Service was a little slow, slow to get seated, slow to get drinks, slow to get food. However, once we had drinks and then later food things were great. I like the atmosphere. Nice bar. definitely would return for happy hour, dinner and live music. Good job!

Love the atmosphere. Love the live music they have so regularly. And the Macaroni and Cheese is to DIE for. I could eat that all day. There’s a great Happy Hour menu, and the wait staff is fantastic. Love the bar menu. Delicious cocktails. Overall I just love this place.

Went specifically for Happy Hour — for frog legs. Neither of us had eaten them for a long time. Not too busy on the Thurs mid-aft. Service was fine.
Frog legs were good. The coating was very good, but probably could have had the thick end cooked 30 seconds more than the thin part (how would you do that). How anybody thinks they taste like chicken is beyond me.
Calamari was excellent – flavorful, thin coating.
Duck wing confit was weird. They battered it and deep fried it!?!? Meat was wonderfu (mu first experience)l, breading was just wrong.
The sauces for all three items tasted the same. OK for these items, but is that what they are attempting?

The service was definitely lacking! We waited about 40 minutes for our appetizers with our waiter checking in on us maybe once during that wait. We almost walked out until he brought our appetizers, which were underwhelming to say the least! The escargot didn’t have much flavor despite being in a butter sauce. & Although the frog legs were good, there were only 3! The main meal was worse. We got the black cod, which had big bones, lacked taste, and was small…this on top of “beans” that weren’t too appealing to the taste buds was the third strike.
At least the waiter gave us our appetizers on the house for such a long wait, but it didn’t make up for us walking out of there still hungry!!

Now under management, this place has definitely improved things. They’ve remodeled and made it feel more like a cafe/bistro with a modern twist. As for their food, they have 3 types of frites and their all awesome. I say go with the duck fat because you won’t be let down. Their happy hour is great but they really shine for dinner. I had the rabbit boudin and was extremely happy that I chose it.

Right now this is one of my favorite places to eat. I was in France a year ago, and this place always reminds me of the amazing meals I had there. Happy Hour and Lunch are both amazing and well priced. Haven’t tried dinner there yet. Everything I have tried has been amazing.

About 10 years ago this place was a great authentic french restaurant. Now, not so much. Came with my family last year close to christmas and received horrible service. We asked for a cheese plate that never was served to us, and the food has become more american than french. Now the only thing I like about this place is their happy hour.
