Wow! I’m always on the lookout for the best croissant. Once we heard there was a new brasserie not too far away, couldn’t resist checking it out and Brasserie Melrose did not disappoint in the least!

Super cute spot on the corner of 7th Ave. Great ambience, get your pastries and order your coffee downstairs and then head upstairs where we sat outside in the sun on the patio. It really couldn’t have been a better vibe. I can imagine having lunch of dinner up here would be perfection.

Chocolate croissant, butter croissant, cappuccino, and a Parisian latte. All of it was exceptional. My other favorite pastries in the Valley are Essence and Chaccone, and this is right there. Truly. The latte was one of the best I’ve had in a long time and I will be back for another soon. The service was friendly, prompt to order, and someone checked in on us while we sat outside.

Definitely will be back for morning coffee and croissants and dinner or lunch soon. Happy to see this place here and hoping the best for them. Highly recommended!

Note: parking is tricky and only a couple spots in back so walk over if you’re close by or park off 7th on a side street.

My husband and I stopped in for a quick bite and coffee, and we were so glad we did. It’s such a quaint, charming little shop, and the subtle holiday décor made it feel really cozy without being over the top.

The potato Parmesan pastry was the star of the show – truly the best savory pastry either of us has ever had. We also tried the pumpkin spice, cardamom citrus, and lemon curd pastries, and they were all incredible: super flaky, beautifully made, and full of flavor.

My husband ordered a hot chocolate with a couple shots of espresso added (amazing), and I tried the sparkling lemonade and espresso drink. I know it sounds unusual, but it was so refreshing and actually brought out these bright, minty notes in the coffee. Such a fun surprise.

We wandered upstairs and were blown away by how gorgeous the bar and little patio were. Even though we live pretty far from the area, we’d absolutely make the drive again. Next visit, I’m definitely getting the pain au chocolat!

The staff were also genuinely welcoming and clearly passionate about what they do. Overall, we were completely impressed – such a wonderful experience from start to finish.

Talk about attention to detail in every aspect. The above and beyond service started the moment we had to drive around the building only to discover there were only 4 parking spots in the rear of the building. The hostess came outside to let us know were to park. Everyone was very friendly and helpful through our dining. We had a lovely French 75, latte, lobster salad, steak friets, and ended with a beautiful pain au chocolat for desert. All around supurb!

If you’re looking for an authentic brasserie experience, this is it. We stopped in and every single dish was a knockout.
The Highlights:
French Onion Soup: Perfectly caramelized with a deep, rich broth and that essential, gooey cheese crust. It’s a hug in a bowl.
Charcuterie Sampler: A fantastic variety of meats and accompaniments. It’s the perfect social starter.
Niçoise Salad: Fresh, bright, and beautifully composed. A great balance to the richer dishes.
Hot Chocolate: Do not skip this! It’s thick, decadent, and felt like a true dessert rather than just a drink.
Brasserie Melrose has definitely earned its spot as a local favorite. I’ll be back for the atmosphere alone, but I’m staying for that soup!
Pro Tip: Next time, get the baguette, save a piece specifically for the leftover broth of that French Onion soup—it’s a game changer

My husband and I stopped by Brasserie Melrose in the afternoon and had such a wonderful experience! We ordered a variety of pastries and tried the cardamom citrus pastry and the chocolate croissant—both were absolutely delicious. We also had a cortado and a specialty coffee with espresso, lemonade, and mint, which was surprisingly refreshing and very tasty!

After enjoying our treats downstairs, we made our way upstairs to the bar. The cocktails were fantastic, and the bartender was so friendly and welcoming. Overall, a great spot with amazing pastries, creative drinks, and a warm atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Melrose Brasserie is one of those places where you walk in, take a breath, and immediately feel like you’ve been transported somewhere far more European than Phoenix, in the best way possible. Between the chic interior, the thoughtful design details, and the quietly elegant vibe (see photos, because wow), this spot feels like a little Parisian escape tucked into Melrose.

I ordered the Café Viennois, a spinach & artichoke pastry, and a lemon blueberry pastry, and honestly… everything was perfection. The Café Viennois deserves a standing ovation, the espresso was rich and smooth, but that whipped cream on top? Absolute cloud-level perfection. One sip in and I genuinely forgot what continent I was on. The pastries were flaky, buttery, and indulgent without being heavy… the kind of pastries that make you slow down and actually enjoy them.

The service was just as lovely as the food. Every staff member I interacted with was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. I really wish I had caught everyone’s names because they were absolute gems and made the experience feel welcoming without being overbearing, true hospitality done right.

As for vibe, this place is perfect for a lunch date, meeting with a friend or colleague or a quiet solo morning where you treat yourself to a latte and pastry and feel very main-character about it.

Pricing is definitely on the higher end for local patisserie/brasseries, but the quality, flavor, and overall experience absolutely justify it. This is a well-earned splurge, because you’re paying for the craftsmanship, not just calories.

A couple of things to know before you go:

#1 – Seating is limited, especially on weekends, reservations are strongly recommended.

#2 – Parking is even more limited (they only have 3 spots). The recommended option is the 5th Ave & Camelback Park & Ride, which makes things much easier.

Bonus note: the lunch menu looks incredible and very authentic, and I will 100% be back to try it.

Final verdict: Melrose Brasserie is elegant, delicious, and effortlessly charming, a little slice of Paris with a Phoenix zip code.

10/10 would recommend. I came for coffee and pastries and left emotionally fluent in French

Phoenix just welcomed its newest European brasserie
@brasseriemelrose

This is a true European-style brasserie—where freshly baked pastries meet thoughtfully crafted lunch and dinner offerings, all made in house. From the moment you step in, you’re greeted by the sounds of clinking glasses, soft music in the background, and the hum of laughter filling the room.

Every dish and pastry brings its own aroma, texture, and depth of flavor, paired perfectly with expertly made coffee and drinks. The quality is undeniable, the atmosphere is inviting, and the experience feels effortlessly elevated.

Whether you’re stopping in for coffee and a croissant or settling in for a full meal, this is one of those places you’ll want to return to again and again.

Melrose Brasserie is such a gem. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the love and intention behind it — proudly owned by LGBTQ members, which makes supporting it even sweeter. The French fries are ridiculously good (the kind you keep thinking about later), and the cocktails are creative, balanced, and seriously fun. You can tell real care goes into every detail.

I’m so excited to watch this place grow and thrive — it already feels like a neighborhood staple in the making. Pro tip: stop by in the morning for a quick croissant and coffee. Perfect, easy, and delicious. Can’t wait to keep coming back.
