Brasserie Blanc in Portsmouth offers classic French food as well as some wonderful new dishes inspired by Raymond Blanc’s travels. We have something for everyone, so if you don’t have a ‘taste for adventure’ then tuck into great steaks, burgers, fishcakes and awesome desserts. Our brasseries are warm and welcoming with comfortable spaces where you can gather with friends, family or colleagues for a leisurely lunch, our seasonal, two course set menu or dishes from our extensive a la carte menu. Many of our restaurants have great little bars and lovely outside areas where you can stave off the hunger until dinner with a glass of wine, a beer or a refreshing cocktail. Popped in on a busy valentines night and they managed to find us a table for 2. Despite being busy the food came out quickly and more importantly was delicious. Our cod was cooked to perfection.
There is a good variety on the menu, I had the rabbit on a previous visit which was both unusual to see and equally tasty.
BB sticks to first principals of properly cooked well thought out menus and a quality front of house staff.

We had a lovely afternoon and excellent service from our waiter Paul who took care of us and was such a lovely fellow. The food was fantastic and we really enjoyed our experience. I had the mushroom starter, Trout for main and Chocolate praline, my friend had beetroot for starter, pumpkin tartlet for main and also chocolate praline. It was delicious! Great atmosphere and a relaxed experience allowing my friend and I to have a good chat.

Recommend the prix fixe lunch menu. The smoked ham hock & apple terrine starter was gorgeous as was the steak frites. The haddock fillet & butter bean cassoulet was a lovely comfort dish although the chorizo didn’t add much. Finished with the pistachio soufflé to share – a very satisfying lunch!

04/12/25 – Just had lunch here with my sister. My favourite go to place when in Gunwharf Quays. There was a lovely welcome from Ellidia, Katie our server was very smiley and attentive. The food was delicious and perfectly cooked – especially the moules! It was altogether a wonderful meal and we will definitely be returning. Thank you all xx

Delightful place, tasty drinks and even tastier food! Our server, Mex, was quite attentive and didn’t think it was strange that I wanted to try a half order of the ravioli in addition to another entree! Definitely get the baguette with dips to start, the saffron is heavenly! Would definitely return if we were local!

Had lunch booked and didnt regret it at all. Mushroom on toast and mussels as our starter then streak and risotto. All courses were absolutely delicious. Seasoned perfectly and really fresh. We loved our waiter too. He was lovely. Highly recommend Brasserie Blanc. Fab restaurant!!

This is the first time I have been to this restaurant and it has been a really relaxing night, I would also like to say thank you to mexs for welcoming us too the restaurant, ben the assistant manager was amazing we had a lovely conversation with him, thank you too Alex who served us with our drinks it was great to have a laugh!

Food as always was excellent. Over charged by £30 and confusion over the new app dispute having the QR code scanned twice. Suggest these loyalty schemes are robustly tested before being rolled out as you alienate your customer more then rewarding them by over charging them. We left being £9 down but couldn’t stand the hassle of explaining to the staff the further errors.

Went on a date with my boyfriend and had an amazing experience. The food came quickly and hot with a friendly server called Hannah who made us feel really welcome and was very friendly towards us, it was the first time for both of us coming to this restaurant and it won’t be the last.
