I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but this experience really did not match the price point.
The service was far below expectations, especially considering the high service charge. Water and wine were not automatically refilled — our glasses were left empty multiple times while waiters were standing nearby. It wasn’t a staffing issue. For a restaurant charging premium prices, basic attentiveness should be standard, not something customers need to repeatedly request.
The pacing was also poorly managed. It was a four-course set menu, yet the entire dinner took almost 3 hours (around 2.5+ hours). There were long gaps between courses, and we had to keep reminding the staff to serve the next dish. Instead of feeling like a thoughtfully paced dining experience, it felt disorganized and unnecessarily dragged out.
As for the food, it was just okay — nothing particularly impressive. We were not happy with the quality and the portion sizes given the price paid. For this level of pricing, we expected to leave feeling genuinely satisfied and impressed.
Overall, the experience did not justify the cost. Unless there are significant improvements in service standards and overall value, we would not return.

Absolutely loved the experience here. The food was beautifully prepared and full of rich, authentic French flavours. The ambience was elegant yet cozy, making it perfect for a relaxing evening. The waiters on duty that night provided fantastic service—attentive, friendly, and professional. A special shoutout to Yvonne for the amazing performance of the night, which truly elevated the whole dining experience.

This visit allowed me to experience Brasserie Alma at its very best. The food was outstanding, beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. The swing jazz performance by Frankie Sixes was fantastic and created the exact atmosphere I had hoped for from the beginning.

To be honest I was abit sceptical after reading all the reviews in Google. But I was thinking why not give it a try.
The restaurant is very cozy, we were warmly greeted and Sabri gave us the best experience. He’s very attentive and very helpful with all my request. This definitely add another star for the night.
The food is good – truffle butter to go with bread, escargot, mushroom soup (I’m not a fan), ribeyes and sirloin are great with this price.
Absolutely a great experience, with the ambience, service, food and pricing – we already considering revisiting Alma.

Found this hidden gem in Chow kit area. The food was awesome. We had mushroom truffle soup and cocktails. Great services & pampered us with a lot of complementary. This restaurant has a paid jazz band night every friday and weekend nights. Good place to date.

Arrived around 13:30, I love this beautiful and stylish building, Yap Ah Shak House.
Restaurant is obviously a hidden jem at fourth floor.
Design is urban style and cool, mono colors are sophisticated well.
Surprisingly all staffs were gentle & amazing for service, I had truly excellent time with staffs. I love that we made happy laughs together, (Because there were not many customers due to weekday lunch) Still in politely and elegant way.
I am truly impressed by Assistant Manager Mr. Anuwar’s effort, friendly with respect in silence all is for customers as pro.
Foods were excellent and every dish has beautiful figure ❤️, ..especially I loved mushroom and chicken pilaf, Cappuccino with cutest latte art ever lol and dessert, baked orange mousse with crushed cookie?❤️ ❤️ all was I loved, that is why I ate too much haha .
I appreciate cooking staffs at backyard, and Barista at bar counter with cute smile and short hair (I should had asked the name..) and sweet Jessica.., I hope spelling is correct. I highly recommend here, why not trying, please try here ✨

Lunch time does not have band but enjoyed smooth French pop songs with chilling volume adjustment from ceiling speaker.

amazing experience! the staff were extremely repsonsive over whatsapp and we were able to easily change our booking timings. the food was fantastic for the price point. service was top notch as well and the staff were so detailed and observant. thank you so much for all of the complimentary snacks and would strongly recommend anyone in kl to drop by.

We came for Opera Night. Unfortunately, our server often misunderstood our orders — the wrong drinks were served, and they seemed to struggle to understand our questions (not due to noise, as this was before the show started — perhaps a language issue). Another waiter eventually had to step in to assist.
Our meal also didn’t come with the complimentary condiments that the next table received, even though they ordered the same fine dining package as us. It was a bit disappointing, especially since the table that arrived after us was served before we were. Trying to think positively — maybe they pre-ordered via WhatsApp, though they were also browsing the menu.
As for the food, the taste varied between dishes. Perhaps others might enjoy it, but to me, it felt rather bland for a fine dining experience. Taste is subjective, after all.
That said, the ambience was absolutely beautiful — definitely a 5-star atmosphere. I might return to this building again, but probably to try a different restaurant on another floor.
