One of my favorite restaurants in Lexington, Brasas serves some of the best Peruvian food I’ve ever had. I went recently and ordered some Lomo Saltado. The food was delicious, and the service was great. The place has a great ambiance if you’re into Peruvian and Latin American culture. The place is kind of hard to find if you’re visiting for the first time and especially if you don’t have a car, but they do takeout and delivery. I order delivery pretty often and the food is always great. Some of their best dishes are the Ceviche, Arroz Chaufa, and the Pollo a la Brasa. They also serve a variety of classic Peruvian drinks such as Chicha Morada and Inca Cola which is one of my favorite sodas. They’re open most days, and their pricing is fair for the quality of food you get. Overall, it’s a pretty great restaurant with great service, definitely worth trying for yourself.

Excellent Peruvian restaurant with a really fun atmosphere. Highly recommend the Lomo Saltado. It’s a beloved Peruvian Classic! Stir-fried tenderloin strips, onions, tomatoes, fried potatoes, cilantro and our signature Saltado sauce, served with jasmine rice.

First time here for lunch around 1pm. The place was clean, and it was empty when we arrived, though a few tables came in shortly after. We ordered an appetizer and two main dishes. The food was delicious, though it did take quite a while to arrive.
Drinks are served in cans or bottles with a glass—so no free refills, just something to note.
What surprised us the most was that a 15% tip was automatically included on the bill for a table of 2. We’ve only seen this done for larger groups (usually 6+). While we didn’t mind the 15%, it wasn’t advertised anywhere on the menu or entrance. We almost added another 20% tip while paying until we noticed the included gratuity. If we hadn’t, that would’ve come out to 35% total, which felt confusing.
Overall, the food was very good, but the service time and lack of transparency with the tip policy are worth mentioning.

The restaurant is clean and plently of parking. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating.
Food was AMAZING, I’ve been here twice and each time I love to try something new. I’ve never been disappointed here.
Our server was very kind and did a great job.
We can’t wait to come back here! Unique flavors that I’ve never had before.

My husband and I came here for a lunch date and were greeted and seated quickly. I was pleasantly surprised to find a Peruvian restaurant in Lexington since I’m a big fan of this cuisine.
We ordered the ½ pollo a la brasa (which comes with a salad), ceviche mixto, and one chicha morada. The food arrived in a reasonable time, and everything was absolutely delicious. However, the biggest downside was the number of flies and gnats in the dining area, which made the experience less enjoyable.
It’s a shame this restaurant isn’t in a better location because the food is fantastic. If it were in a more visible spot, I’m sure it would be packed. Unfortunately, being tucked away in a small plaza makes it easy to miss.
While I wouldn’t dine in again due to the bugs, I’d definitely return for a takeout order!

Visiting Lexington, KY, looking to have lunch.
We found a Peruvian restaurant that served Rotisserie Chicken. Walking in smelled sooooooo good. We knew we were in for a great meal !!!
Allison was our server…. she was great. Very friendly, attentive. but not overbearing.
Two notes…..
1) we thought the music was too loud…. It was a bit tough to hear each other when talking.
2) it would be nice for the, to have a wine license… to at least serve Sangria !! No alcohol is available.
We ordered a full rotisserie chicken with salad & 2 sides to split. Our meal was over the top delicious !! The brine seasoning made the chicken so tender and moist. Included with our meal was a huge salad with tomatoes and cucumbers. Very fresh. We also ordered the tostones, which were thicker than we’ve had in other places… delicious. The fried rice was good but a tad dry. . The service was great, the food was delicious. Wish we lived closer to enjoy this restaurant more often.

I can only speak about the actual food because I ordered to go. I bought the cookies at the counter which were a nice little treat. I have never eaten Peruvian food before but I loved it! The chicken and sweet potato fries were amazing! The appetizer was different but flavorful. I definitely want to come back and try some different dishes!!!
